Saw this new place in town and decided to try it.
Food:
The food was good, good portions, guacamole was my favorite
For apps we had the chicken roll it’s, cru cha and flavorful and I had the empanada of the day which was shrimp and chorizo, loved it!
For our main meal we had the mix grill, variety of protein, side of rice and beans and tortillas, it was great!
For dessert we had the tres leches, it was okay, coming from someone who loves making tres leches, it was just a bit dry inside. The kids had chocolate ice cream and they loved it!
Drinks:
My husband had the sangrias and loves them, I had a cosmo which was good but def a little higher on the price.
One thing I felt off about the restaurant is that we were seated in the farthest corner by the kitchen, we had 2 kids ages 5 and 2 who are well behaved, and I’m really hoping that wasn’t the reason why we were so very isolated while the rest of the people were seated at the front.
Anyway, welcome to Northport and wish them the best!

so unfortunately, my husband is the type of person that once you walk in even if you realize that the place isn’t for you, he’ll make you stay. Came in today day after a big snowstorm on what we thought was taco Tuesday only to be informed that that’s only for dinner but we were informed that there are two lunch specials for $16 apiece a chicken quesadilla or three tacos. When I tell you, the tacos were maybe 2 inches long in length with possibly an ounce of food on each taco and the quesadilla was 1/4 inch thick with again maybe 2 ounces of meat on it. The diet soda we ordered were not included in the lunch special for the $16 that we paid. The food tasted OK but for the money there is absolutely zero value, this should have cost maybe 8$. In a world where prices are higher for everything you expect there to at least be a value for what you pay -for $16 I expect there to be food on my plate and there was barely any and what was on my plate. was mostly flou tortilla and cheese. when you know that a flower tortilla comes in a pack that cost maybe $4 for a pack of 12 and cheese is being grated and portioned and you didn’t even get a chicken breast worth of chicken on your quesadilla you know that was not $16 worth of food- And given that there were zero other patrons eating at the time, it’s pretty clear why no one is coming in for lunch to this restaurant I can’t speak for what things are like at dinner time but their lunch value is not there at all. Do not recommend. I suppose I should mention the free chips and salsa that came on the table. Chips were hard and stale salsa was mediocre at best.

Mediocre at best.
Table side guacamole was awful. No garlic, no lime, a quarter of a teaspoon of salt. About two bundles of cilantro.
My steak was nothing special at all. My wife’s shrimp was just ok.

Been coming here since they opened a little time ago. Loved each and every time my partner & I came here. Staff are so lovely and food tastes amazing.
I definitely enjoy coming here more on a slower night because the environment feels so peaceful and calm but don’t let that mess with you because they can get BUSY!!

Their guacamole de calle is bomb! They make it in front of you and I love watching them make it!!❤️

There has never been a time I came here and DIDN’T enjoy my meals. I love you guys CARACARA ❤️❤️

Hands down one of the best Mexican spots on Long Island!
Caracara in East Northport nails it every time. From the fresh ingredients to the creative cocktails, everything is top-tier. The vibe is cozy and inviting, the service is always friendly, and the food? Unreal. Highly recommend the Birria Quesadilla and their house guac. Whether you’re grabbing dinner with friends or just want a solid margarita, this place never disappoints. Definitely a local gem!

I have to say..this place is top notch. I’ve been there once for happy hour at the bar and the prices, the drinks and the food were amazing. I went there this past Saturday with a group of 9 people for a late lunch/early dinner. The ambiance is lovely, the cocktails were delicious and EVERYONE couldn’t say enough about the delicious fresh food. I love spicy food and ordered a steak burrito and for some reason it was WAY too hot than my palate could handle. I mentioned it to the partner, John, and he immediately had them re-make it without the hot sauce. They couldn’t be more accommodating. We will be back for the freshest Mexican and to support this wonderful restaurant and the people who own it. Thanks John for a fantastic experience!!

Solid Mexican, a little nicer and polished compared to other local options. But for what the food is, it’s overpriced.
Had a good meal here, the mole can be overpowering (they do warn you), but for standard slightly more refined Mexican, it can get pretty steep. An order of guacamole, tacos and a couple margaritas will cost you $80+… just not sure it’s good enough to be worth THAT much.

Wife and I decided to try this spot during peak dinner time, but honestly, the empty restaurant should’ve been our first red flag. We figured we’d give it a shot, but sadly, the service was slow and definitely not up to par.

We ordered a mango margarita, carne asada, skillet chicken taco, and flan for dessert. The margarita was fine, nothing spectacular, but it was decent. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The carne asada was fatty and difficult to chew, and the skillet chicken taco was dry and lacked flavor—both were pretty disappointing. But the real letdown was the flan. It was hard, tasted like it had been sitting around too long, and was missing the berries it was supposed to come with. When we asked about it, the staff casually said they were out of berries and instead offered us two shots of pineapple-infused tequila. Now, that felt a little off. Rather than offering something to make up for the bad dessert, they decided to give us tequila they clearly wanted to get rid of.

The entire experience was a letdown, and unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

Our son (Trevor 9) was adament about leaving a review for Caracara. “The chicken tenders are the best I’ve ever had, the people [service] was friendly and this place should get Five Stars!” We also enjoyed the experience as well.

Amazing authentic Mexican food! Fresh ingredients and perfectly prepared. The shrimp tamale appetizer was to die for and our entrees were delicious. Drinks and dessert were top notch. Our server Amanda was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. Great experience all around. Highly recommend!
