Caputo’s Deli is an incredibly charming European-style deli with a strong Italian soul. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a little slice of old-world Europe, with shelves full of unique ingredients and a food selection that clearly reflects a love for quality and tradition.
We ordered the Old World sandwich, and it was massive in the best way. Generously layered, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. It’s the kind of sandwich you can easily split with a friend and still feel fully satisfied. Every bite tasted thoughtful and well crafted.
There’s plenty of seating, which makes it a great spot to actually slow down and enjoy your food instead of rushing out. Beyond the sandwiches, the curated selection of specialty foods, cheeses, and imported items is impressive and fun to browse. It’s one of those places where you want to take your time, discover something new, and come back again to try something different.
Caputo’s Deli is the kind of place that feels special without trying too hard. A must-visit if you appreciate great food, generous portions, and a truly charming atmosphere.

One of my favorite places in SLC!! Amazing food, and run by a family who cares about their community and doing good in the world. They have an entire aisle dedicated to the best chocolate from around the world, and sandwiches to die for. Excellent atmosphere and fantastic service.

Tried Caputo’s in Holladay for lunch today and it was good! Not overly busy, so we ordered and were served in a short amount of time. We had a half of the meatball sub and a half of the turkey sandwich. The meatballs were tender, moist and delicious as was the turkey sandwich. The olives that were served with the sandwiches were delightful, too. Lots of fun items to purchase in the store. From food to cookbooks to t-shirts and kitchen items. Place is clean and seemed to be well staffed.

The cheese selection is next-level, with both beloved classics and unique finds you won’t see everywhere. Great spot for a quick but satisfying lunch. I loved that they doused the bread in olive oil for their sandwiches, instead of overpowering mayo or mustard. Staff are friendly, offering cheese and honey samples to diners. In case you miss it, they have a 50% off rack at the back of the store, along with frozen pastas and cookie doughs.

We absolutely love Caputo’s- from their artisanal cheese, to rare imported pastas, knowledgeable tinned fish connoisseurs, & fine aged meats, they truly have something for everyone.

Caputo’s doesn’t just sell some of the most delicious imported Italian & southern European foods, they support rural farmer’s, advocate for the people behind their counters working day in and day out, rally for the artisans that provide so much of the food they sell, and ultimately they are just incredible humans trying to share one of the few things that all people can appreciate & enjoy- thoughtfully made foods.
