My wife and I were craving for Halibut and chips. While it was a bit pricey the meal was outstanding. Excellent flavor and cooked to perfection. The clam chowder was also very delicious and worth the price. We’re from Brookings and we will definitely eat there again the next time we visit. The only issue I had was our servers hoodie was full of animal fur. And that was the only issue. Please keep up the great work!!!

For a place that prides itself on it’s seafood, the seafood was quite abominable. Fries were quite alright but coleslaw wasn’t very flavorful either. Decent salad. They say freshly shucked oysters but they’re clearly not, and you can taste it. None of the seafood tasted particularly fresh. Unfortunately, the view of the bay and the inside atmosphere are the only things salvaging the place from a one star review. Waitress was kind but handed us our waters from the lip of the cup.

Awesome little seafood restaurant just off the water. The clam chowder is amazing; a bit creamier than the standard chowder on the coast. Halibut fish n chips is top notch as well. Good service and a nice view to top it off.

got the scallops and no batter platter, both were excellent. Very fresh and sweet scallops, fish was cooked perfectly, shrimp(s) were also cooked perfectly. will eat here again, soon

I wish I would have remembered pictures!! We’ve ate out 3 times already and wasn’t impressed at all. The Captains Choice is worth every penny!! Portions are huge and the waitstaff were super friendly. Their clam chowder was a 10/10. Cod with tempura batter was delicious and the coconut shrimp were huge with great sweet chili dipping sauce. We will definitely be back!! See you next year. ….or maybe tomorrow!!

Anna was amazing, great service! Hubby got the fish and chowder..tempura battered red snapper. He said it was so good! I got Chowder and salad with a bay shrimp topper. Chowder was yummy. Lots of clams definitely made it better than some of the other chowders I’ve had. The bay shrip topper for my green salad was an additional $6.50, though the cost was a bit more than I wanted to pay for the amount I received, it made my plain green salad so much better.

I’m a local and thought I would go get a takeout meal. I picked the fish dinner at Captain’s Choice where you get 5 pieces of fish with coleslaw and toast.
I got home and was blown away by the tiny “pieces” of FIVE?? Fish. Then I got angry. I could have bought 2 packages of fish for what I paid.
I called and talked to the waitress on the phone who was very nice. She talked to management and took my name.
Here’s my take: the economy is not great so five pieces of fish turn into two.
What I didn’t tell the waitress: this is the second time this has happened.
As a local I would respectfully say, don’t cheap out on your customers Captain’s Choice. It’s not cool.

My meal was good. The fries posters were excellent, also super fresh. Good fries too. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was also really good. Yeah, it’s a lot of butter, but that’s what actual Alfredo is, so you’re for sure gonna see it. The young waitress (who’s name skipped my mind which I an very sorry for, I’ll make sure I catch it next time) was super cool and was great to chat with while my sub and I were eating. It’s a bit of a splurge, but we’ll be back

Great local fresh fish. If you’re on the coast this is the place to go for Chowder and Fish. The burgers are great as well. too many good things to say about this place.
