The service is good & the seafood is great. I love their shrimp salad. They have a good variety of seafood. Most is fried, but it comes other ways too. You won’t leave Captain Tom’s hungry. In fact, you’ll have leftovers. It’s a good value for the amount of food they bring you.

I would never, ever recommend this place for as long as I live. The food was mediocre at best and the service was atrocious. We arrived at this place at 6:30pm we called ahead and they did not have a table ready. Luckily people know better than to eat there so they easily put some tables together for us. The waitress was sweet and took our order and that is where any semblance of “service” ended. Over an hour after we ordered we are told that it is just taking long because the kids ordered chicken. Then we are told that they accidentally marked our orders as done so they are just cooking it then but there is a rush. Twenty minutes later orders started coming out, things were still missing but eventually got sorted out. Needless to say my 3 year old got so tired and cranky from waiting that he didn’t eat a bite. When our checks came they charged is for every penny. When we asked about it the manager had the audacity to tell us that we need to understand that they are not a chain and it wouldn’t be fair to them if we didn’t pay for things because they are struggling to keep doors open as it is. I was not surprised at all. Maybe if the management took some lessons from my 3 year old in manners, listening and observation she could figure out that maybe if people received decent service and offered resolutions when the establishment completely destroys a family’s night out for a woman’s 80th birthday they would have customers. I am beyond disgusted.

I am so sad to see Captain Tom’s go, but I have definitely enjoyed them while they were here. It was always a good, go-to family restaurant without the ridiculous prices and small portions. You’ll never leave here hungry! Thanks for being such an amazing restaurant.

To start. The food is absolutely delicious. I always get their popcorn chicken plate with French fries and honey mustard. It’s to die for. Ironically enough a seafood place has.the best chicken around. Now, my mother says they have the best fish as well.

Food is great the flounder is omg the best I have ever had !! I’m am not even joking it was the very best thick peice of fish and juicy the slaw was good and the potatoes was also .
The girl at the drive thru window however was not very good . She was not nice and rude when I ask for lemon . Even telling her I would pay for it no problem !!

We came in at around 430p this past Saturday I ordered the fried oyster/perch platter. Baked potato was overcooked I noted another patron sitting a few tables away sent hers back. I kept mine. Oysters were ok average not bad. That night I started feeling sick but dismissed it but woke up Sunday in extreme pain, terrible naseau, and diarrhea. You guessed it! Food poisoning. Will certainly be calling tomorrow when they reopen.

this is our favorite of all favorites for seafood, love their shrimp, unfortunately they are retiring and their children are turning it into a pizzeria, thomasville has way to many pizza places, so we really are upset they are closing , thanks for all the years of great fish, sorry we will not be visiting the pizzeria. good luck
