Service is bit lacking during lunch hours and they tend to cater to specific demographics over others so you could be swinging your arm for a while to get their attention but they would be walking right past you. My rating is high because the food tasted pretty good, generous amount and decent prices. I ordered texas mini and the seafood gumbo which tasted awesome.

Finally came to Captain Tom’s ! i’ve always heard wonderful things. Seating can be difficult to find since they’re so busy, you just have to wait for someone to get up. Service is fast and friendly. You have to try their micheladas, the spice and citrus are perfect. The double stuffed crab was pretty good. We also ordered the crab claws which were a nice little snack. I’ll be back to try some oysters next time.

Every time we try to come here it’s always super packed. By chance we were able to finally eat here because it was raining, but still packed nonetheless. I see why people love to come here, the boisterous camaraderie and how people were interacting with each other was fun. The food comes out piping hot! The oysters were pretty big and fresh compared to other places where they can be quite tiny. The only grievance was that the catfish had a lot bones and was not seasoned (but maybe you would like it plain to enjoy the basic freshness of it). Overall very hot and fresh; and comes out in a jiff!

This place gets packed fast, so beware you may have to wait for a spot. If you have a large party I suggest going elsewhere unless it is during their off hours. The tables were cleared quickly which was nice. We sat facing the highway, away from the bar. Ordering is a bit different as you have to call out your order to the people at the oyster bar, then keep an eye out for when your food and drinks are ready since they don’t all come out together. It was super loud, so a few people at the bar actually helped us notice when our order was up (thank you to them!).
I brought my dad here for his birthday because he was craving fried oysters. Unfortunately, those were the most disappointing part. They were tiny, like marble-sized, and mostly tasted like cornmeal. Definitely not what we expected.
The gumbo, though, was good and full of shrimp/crab, the boiled shrimp were really fresh. The michelada was great too! I liked that they have sauces and lemons easily available. The area we sat in could’ve been a little cleaner, but it was understandable given how busy they were.
Overall, it’s a loud, energetic spot with decent seafood options. If I come back it would be for the shrimp and gumbo only.

Food was good and plentiful. Service was quick. Seating (Bar style, no tables) is limited as well as parking. Suggest you get there early if at lunch time. Shrimp was great, my buddy catfish was great he said and the cup of gumbo he had was very good . They are very attentive to everyone. Little tight inside. Didn’t take pictures to many people eating abd that would be rude. Pictures are of the Whole Double Catfish and Nine Shrimp platter. If this helps give it a thumbs up and a like.

Flounder and oysters are the best in town. Be sure to call ahead to see if they have flounder available. It’s hit or miss on when they have it, so best to call ahead. Also, their gumbo is delicious and I don’t even like gumbo! Michelada mix is fantastic.

Heard a lot about their gumbo and decided to try it. I can say it was not the best gumbo I have had, Razzo’s and Willie’s has better. But it was the best gumbo I have had for the price, a bowl for under $5 is a great choice. I had the catfish and shrimp plate. The shrimp was really good and big but the catfish was lacking seasoning. I put some hot sauce on the catfish and it was good after that also the catfish pieces were pretty big. There is only counter seating so not really a good place for a family to eat.

Such a great experience. I stopped in to order fried oysters to go, for my husband & me. The staff is SO NICE. While I was waiting, I ordered a beer & asked for lime. The server squeezed fresh lime with a huge press into my mug & salted in a way I’ve never seen done. Best Corona I’ve ever had. EVERYONE who works there is happy & smiling, including the kitchen staff. You can feel the joy.
Our oysters were fresh & delicious! We ordered extra sides of hush puppies, because their batter is outstanding – soft, but crispy & just a little bit spicy.
I’d rather go here than a fancy restaurant any day.

The restaurant is located and designed like a small ship on the outside, but is lively and cozy on the inside. The seats are close together, the food is prepared right in front of you, and the food is quite delicious. The oysters are fresh and the soup is the best. The price list is also reasonable. The waiters are quick and friendly.
