This was their annual costume party around Halloween. Most people were in costume, including myself.
The menu features a variety of items and I got a side of french fries, which were hot and fresh. The full menu is pictured below. This is not the place to go to eat if you are on a budget. For example, a simple turkey club sandwich is nearly $17, which is high, even though it comes with fries.
The atmosphere was festive and roomy and the service was good.
They advertised a costume contest with cash prizes for several categories, such as best pirate, group, and individual. They did award cash to winners but never said how much they were giving out which is strange to me.
The other thing worth mentioning is that the announcer lets the crowd do the “judging,” so don’t put any effort into your costume. As I’ve come to realize, the crowd has poor judgement and just cheers at the costume that is most immediately recognizable, rather than considering the actual best costumes.
My advice would be to assign three people who work there as judges and have a few simple criteria to judge by: most complete, most original and so on. This would be a good contest rather than how it usually goes, which will always be disappointing to anybody who actually put thought and effort into creating their costume.
This is a comfortable place to get a sandwich and beer but beware the prices.

The staff are very fast and the food hot and ready .

C Traveling
This a favorite to stop at by water or land. The docks are large and taken care of, and having dock workers is always a plus. They have a large menu with a variety of options. The nachos are a good go to as every chip is covered. Tacos, shrimp, pizzas are great as well. Bartenders are great, drinks hit the spot. They have plenty of parking, an outside beach, swimming area!

Perfect way to spend an afternoon with Captain Ron’s pizza and hanging out on the beach playing volleyball. The pizza is DELICIOUS and worth the wait. The boat docks provided are very nice as well.

We were seated right away, which was great, but waited about 15-20 minutes before a waitress ever approached us or even offered us water. The food was delicious, but service was almost non-existent. Lots of waiting. I know this does not reflect on all the waiters/waitresses, but it was definitely super poor service the day we went. It wasn’t even terribly busy. Despite that, we still tipped over 20%, because I know they are working for those tips. This won’t stop me from going back.

This was our first trip to Captain Ron’s, and it was delightful. Very convenient, just a little ways off Hwy 5 But a BIG sign tells you where to turn. Fast, friendly service (kid and family friendly too! They have a playground for the kiddos) and tasty food. Good music at a decent volume. Right on the water with a marina, you can get there by boat or by car. Beach volleyball (2 courts), a playground, a bar, a covered deck, and indoor dining if you prefer. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to drop in to Captain Ron’s!

I don’t usually post reviews but this was the second time that this happened to my wife and I at Captain Ron’s we were there at the vintage boat show and decided to have something to eat when we went in to get a table we were told that there was over a 30 minute wait when I looked around and saw quite a few open tables the young woman told me that they didn’t want to overwhelm the kitchen I think that was a reflection of poor management when they knew that it was going to be busy mind you this was the second time this happened to us. I don’t think I’ll be back and I liked going there as it is close to home and the food was away pretty good. Sorry Ron

If you can’t find entertainment here your not trying hard enough. We arrived by boat, plenty of dock space here. Super friendly young ladies help tie you up to the dock. Indoor and covered or uncovered seating available. Indoor bar and separate outdoor tikibar. Sand volleyball court, beach, bags and swimming available. Cabins for rent also. Small gift shop inside too. Cheeseburger and fries was large and well flavored. Wife enjoyed her quesadilla as well, substantial drink menu with lots of fruity type mixed drinks. Not too busy for lunch but a good crowd service was very good.
