As a Texan who has been on the road for over a decade, I will highly recommend Captain John’s Bar-B-Que. Bobby at VIP Indoor Storage in Collierville told us about it so we had to go (he is the best and we highly recommend the facility). The pulled pork sandwich with fried okra and potato salad that tasted homemade times two is what my husband and I ordered. The food was fresh, hot, and seriously scrumptious. Tables full of work crews and older couples set the scene, the zippy and attentive check out and cook staff made us feel welcome, and the old-school diner digs hit it out of the park for us. What a treasure! Keep doing what you do and we will keep coming back. Yummm! The two-holer women’s bathroom stall is perfect for those who can’t end the conversation to take care of business. Cracked me up. Would be handy with kids. Eat at Captain John’s Bar-B-Que! You will love it. ❤️

Food was good. Sauce was great but they need to rename their “8 pack” to “3 1/2 pack”. I paid a lot of money and had people from out of town at home waiting for food and well…. How embarrassing to talk up a place and get home and can’t even feed 5 people. If you go here do yourself a favor and order 1 sandwich at a time. It was good but someone needs to supervise that as I could have ordered 1 pound received more meat and paid a hellava lot less.

First we paid over 60.00 for food we couldn’t even eat. Visiting Tennessee and this was by far the worst food we have had since we got here.
The rib was so dry, you couldn’t even chew. Plus did I mention the nasty smoke sausage, what a joke. Please people don’t get rip off. Keep on by this food establishment.

The catfish is delicious. I could eat it every Friday night. Most of the sides are great except the slaw. It’s ok. Their tartare sauce is terrible. They put mustard in it. No way. Onion Rings are delicious. This restaurant is had to be. Atmosphere is ok.

I love finding the not so well known hidden treasure restaurants and this is DEFINITELY one of them. I’m still thinking about that bologna sandwich…2 months later. Im ready to drive 80 miles for this!!!!We’ll be back soon. (And I see a lot of comments on the wait. Remember GOOD things take time. It’s a small locally owned business and I hope they stay just like that. The wait is just part of the experience. U will be happy u flexed ur patience)
