At our Ruston, LA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The Captain D’s closest to me closed a few months ago. I was craving their batter dipped fish so I drove nearly an hour to try this location. It did NOT disappoint! The fish was hot & fresh, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. It was well worth the drive.

Traveling thru LA and decided to give ole Long John Silvers a try. I was not disappointed, food came out fresh and hot. Staff were friendly and quick. Thanks for some great fried food…it was just what I was craving.

I used to like Captain D’s until I visited the location in Alvin, TX last week.. I ordered a fish and chicken platter with two sides. I paid about $12 for the meal. What I received was a split fish filet which counted as two pieces, two extremely small chicken strips and about a spoonful of Mac and cheese and cole slaw. I was very disappointed with what I received and will not waste my money at your establishment again. The quality of the food and portion sizes have gone downhill.

Lawd knows I must love my father. I pulled up at 8:27pm and I’m still waiting in the drive through. I’m almost to the window, there are 2 cars ahead of me. It’s 9:07pm now. This is not knew and the one reason I never come here on my own desire. And it’ll be the one reason I never come back. My father can waste an hour of his own time! Friends, don’t do it. You know the food is going to be cold. I finally got my food at 9:16pm.

Purchased Captain D’s today, was the worst I have ever gotten. Called and spoke with the manager and was told that it was the same fish as usual. I know this wasn’t the fish I’ve gotten in the past, the fish had the texture of cotton and it was soft and soggy. The crust wasn’t even crispy. Will not ever go back to Captain D’s in Ruston Louisiana. EVER!!

Walked in and didn’t get greeted at all, that’s ok, but there was a girl at the counter straight up staring out into the distance. She only snapped out of it when someone went through the drive through. There were workers and what I assume was a manager were sitting in the lobby being a bit loud. That didn’t last too long. But after we got our order,the drive though girl had sat down on the other side of us and got really irritated that someone came through. I went to the bathroom,it stank to high heck. The food was good…….
