At our Huber Heights, OH location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The manager took my order but because they have employees that don’t take their jobs seriously, the service sucked, gave me the wrong sides…. can’t eat potatoes so they gave me double french fries instead of the double broccoli I ordered…….

This location is unusually slow, but I think they may be understaffed. Maybe not. This 2 piece meal looked perfect. The fish was very hot. But the Mac n cheese was cold, not even lukewarm, as well as the hushpuppies. I ate the fish and one hush puppy. Waste of money. Cars frequently leave the drive thru line due to it being so slow, as we have as well. And the employee…. I hope she finds something that makes her smile. The vibe felt like a prison cafeteria line. 🙁 4 stars, because we usually get great friendly service and food here. This just wasn’t one of those times.

Drive thru order… No napkins or utensils, out of sauces, got maybe a 2-3 tarter sauces for a dinner n platter, but luckily plenty of malt vinegar… The hush puppies looked small n hard like popcorn filled onion bites since all yu taste/see are big pieces of onion. The fish is barely edible, if it is at all, I won’t be finding out. It’s under cooked fried with very little color, the chicken pieces look like over cooked fried skin thrown in a box for scraps for a pet. Guess we will be getting another dinner elsewhere..

My experience at Captain D’s was horrible. I have been going to Captain D’s for several years and this time this week I went and it was horrible. There was this woman at the front named Stacy and I ordered a meal my usual meal and she was rude and disrespectful and the customer service was unacceptable. I will never go back to Captain D’s ever again just because of her I asked to talk to the manager, and she said no, she lied to me and said that she was the manager. I will not be going back there until she is not there any longer she cussed at me and the food that she made was disgusting. Everybody else was fine except for her in the three years that I’ve been going to Captain D’s I have never been treated so horribly. She had an attitude. She was rude and disrespectful and it’s like she did something with the food. It’s unacceptable. She needs to be fired.

The service in the food isn’t too bad. The new garlic butter shrimp isn’t bad but if you’re wanting a good garlic flavor you’re not going to get it. It just doesn’t have the garlic flavor. The spicy fish has a good flavor to it and just the right amount of heat.

The manager in the cashier were so nice at this place. I had the cashier cracking up when I gave my order and when I got up to the windows and manager and the cashier were laughing so hard it was great. The manager up sold me I didn’t know a bunch of hush puppies came with the shrimp dinner and I bought more and I bought cheesecake and I told her if I ended up it weight watchers I was going to sue her she was cracking up. And they even gave me a hush puppy for Roscoe p Coltrane, the coolest and the smartest dog on the planet. As you can see in the picture below Roscoe is a drive-thru entertainer. At breakfast you let me put a hash brown on each Paw without eating them. He drinks out of a straw too

Stopped in for a bite on a Friday evening. Tried “The Big Fish Sandwich”. Tasted as I expected considering it is two pieces of their battered fish within a large bun. Drawbacks…it is hard to eat due to being two pieces of fish, you take a bite and one of the fish pieces falls out of the sandwich. It can be a little annoying when trying to eat.
Went back a week later and had the catfish feast, with green beans and fried okra. The fry was spot on that night. Catfish was hot and flavorful.
