At our Defiance, OH location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I am sitting here at the drive thru for the past 15 minutes listening to the speaker girl have a personal conversation. Absolutely crazy. Told me to wait for anppearently ever and then annoys me the entire time. Update: I ended up leaving, honking as I drove off and calling them to yell at them as well. Absolutely ridiculous, I won’t be back ever.

Unfortunately, I have to believe that I have visited this Captain D’s for the last time. Recently, my wife and I stopped in for our favorite seafood restaurant to find out that the type of fish offered had been changed to a much lower quality. We haven’t returned.

I came to location got their special for $5.99. supposed to get 2 pieces of batter fish, six shrimp 2 hush puppies, fries and 2 sidea. well as you see in picture i got one piece of fish. I got five pieces of shrimp and maybe about 10 fries, and no fries. I went to the window and let them know this isn’t correct and she said oh that’s how it is. That’s how we do it here and I showed her on her the define Ohio’s menu website with their phone number at this location. It it says something different. And she said I’m sorry to tell you that is how we do it here. Well, you don’t advertise something and then don’t honor it.

OK, so I visited this place a week ago and after waiting a full 30 minutes for my food, I asked about the delay. I was told by the kid that worked the front counter, “Sorry, my manager had a phone call.” Wasn’t sure how that caused a 30-minute delay, but whatever. Once I received my food. The quality was bad. Extremely OVER cooked…… Mind blown!
OK. Today I thought I would try it again. Drove a half an hour to get here to find the doors locked and a note on it that reads, ” dining room closed due to lack of staff.” I think there is only one person running the drive thru and cooking all of the food. I pulled into the drive thru at 4:24 and didn’t get my food until 4:59. But hey, at least they gave me my extra tartar sauce.

Food is amazing. It takes them 15-25 minutes when you go to the drive through. I always do and im always waiting forever.

We had to wait about 10 minutes or less before they could take our order. They let us know right away because they were doing an audit, very friendly about it. Thank you for having such a comfy bench to wait on in the front lobby. Food came out fast and fresh. Everything was great! I’ve been coming here since they opened up over 15 years ago, and 9/10 times everything is perfect! They have great deals on shrimp going on! And the garlic butter fries are delicious. The dine in area could use a little better cleaning. If you look around, you can find a piece of trash under tables/chairs, but nothing to whine about. Great place!
