At our Henderson, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Just had a fantastic experience at Captain D’s! The fish was perfectly crispy, and the sides were delicious. But what really stood out was the incredible customer service. The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. As if that wasn’t enough, they surprised us with a free slices of key lime pie, which was the perfect sweet ending. Highly recommend this location!

I went inside on a Saturday evening in ordered me dinner to go. Right off the bat when paying for my order Captain D’s believes they don’t have to give me my change back. “CHANGE” I got my bills but for some reason the extra 56 cents they don’t feel that they’re obligated to return to me. I’m tired of this establishment that acts as though there’s some sort of a mob or Mafia and if everyone that works there has a felony so be it but I’m not going to be intimidated when I go in and I pay for something I expect my exact change back. Otherwise it’s theft and I’m going to file a criminal complaint with the city and they’re not going to be able to ignore it because I’m tired of people in restaurants acting like they have no common sense and managers and owners do nothing about it Beltline their pockets with the extra money I’m getting sick and tired of this place not showing proper respect and courtesy to customers who wish to dine without being intimidated and not getting the correct change back! What is wrong with you people at captain d’s!?!

Used to love coming to this place but at this point there isn’t any reason to. The food is overpriced and when you have a complaint and tell them the food was old, they treat you like you’re lying and don’t want to do anything about it. I recommend going up the road to Long John Silvers if you want food.

Would honestly rate much higher if it wasnt for the extremely unprofessional and poorly trained staff. I ordered the sampler with fries and hush puppies, I received hush puppies and cole slaw. When I called the store to inform the of rhe mistake Josh answered the phone saying “whats up.” When I explained the problem he said ” Well im sorry that happened, what do you want me tp do about it?” That is extremely unprofessional, very rude and completely u called for. DO BETTER and youll make more money.

I had lunch with my wife at the Henderson, KY location. The staff was polite, professional and pleasant. The store manager stopped by our table and made us feel welcome and appreciated. We do not eat a lot of “fast food”. However, the food was good and presented very well. We will definitely be return customers.

I stopped by captain Ds recently and had the absolute best experience, thanks to Randy Gilmore. He’s an incredible manager—welcoming, attentive, and genuinely cares about guests having a great time. You can tell his leadership sets the tone for the whole team, because the service was outstanding and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. I highly recommend coming here—you’ll be in great hands especially if Randy is on shift!

Randy Gilmore always takes care of me by making sure my food is fresh and my order is exactly the way I want it as if I had prepared it myself plus Randy has done an excellent job of training new team members of how to prepare my order when he’s not there.
As far as I’m concerned he is the best employee Captain D’s has ever had when I walk in and see Randy I know my order my food and my service will be perfect.
