At our Gulfport, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I’ve been a customer of Captain D’s since the early 90’s and this was by far the worst meal I’ve EVER gotten. I ordered the “Captain’s Seafood Platter.” I”ve eaten this particular meal for 30 yrs & I hadn’t known they changed the fish from the cod to the hand breaded catfish. The stuffed crab looked like it had been cooked twice and was therefore, overcooked & down sized and lastly, the butterfly shrimp was dry and had an “off” taste. I could have gone to a restaurant, instead of “fast food,” paid what I did for this meal, and gotten more and a better quality food for what I paid for this meal. Won’t be going back.

Mrs. Angela and Mr. Louis made my visit very enjoyable. So polite and charming. The food was very hott and delicious making it an amazing visit. I’m not a big fish guy but it was very tasty. The hush puppies were crispy and moist. Definitely gonna make a trip back. Thank you Capt Ds!

I really love their food here. But they didn’t scan my rewards right and we didn’t get our points added which makes me mad because we eat here so much. My meal was $13 and they didn’t add my points or my husband’s for his fish. He cant eat chicken. Cam we please get those added?? Somehow??

Same breading as LJS but much lower quality fish. Shrimp weren’t bad, different breading than fish. Fries were fresh. Iced tea was very good. Place was very clean and friendly staff. Cheaper than LJS or really any other fish or seafood joint.

Just got home from here and to say I’m disappointed is bringing nice! I ordered the 5pc shrimp and 1pc fish and added a piece of fish. Got home, the shrimp is old, tasting like rubber-no heat at all, the hushpuppies are about dried out and the fish is ok. Called to the store to voice my concerns and both Heather and Angela (GM) (and she took my order) were nice in trying to correct the issue, but this was too much for me-because no one was in the store and I couldn’t even get fresh food…WOW!! I’m done with the D’s and this makes me mad all over again!

Tonight was the first time that I have eaten at this location. I ordered the sampler plate through the drive through; and was very disappointed. The food was overcooked, dry and tasteless. I moved from North Alabama where I often ate at two different locations and always enjoyed my food. However, the food tonight was just not acceptable!
