At our Jackson, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered 2 fish and one side order. I had to wait a while I turned my vehicle off due to the long wait. Then when I got my order. It was a kids meal. I nicely told the lady at window. She stated that’s what you ordered and said give me the green beans we going to add some more in the little plastic cup for you and then gave me the plastic cup back. My experience was not good there several times

So I stopped going to captain ds about 2 years ago because they obviously changed fish vendors & the fish that they was serving was really nasty. Fast forward to today my first time going back in 2 years & I must say that I’m HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! My fish was as big & as wide as my hand just to break off a piece & see that it was undone. I broke my other piece & again, wasn’t done. I’m so livid. This place is nasty & too high

The lines seem to stretch on forever, and the wait can feel like an eternity! To top it off, the cashiers’ attitudes can sometimes leave much to be desired. If only they could enhance their customer service and make the wait feel a bit more bearable, I bet complaints would plummet. A little effort in these areas could transform the experience for everyone involved!

This was one of the best captain D’s in terms of food and service the atmosphere wasn’t so great there was a certain smell that was present there and caused us to not even want to eat on the inside which we did not although the restaurant was clean the smell made u think it was not.

The cashier was working alone, did a good job, but seemed annoyed when I changed my second order from 2 to 1 order of whiting. I explained I didn’t see it on the menu( it’s not listed) and didn’t know they were that expensive individually. I already had ordered several meals and wanted to try the whiting. This was a convenient location to UMMC, but I’ll go to a different one next visit.

It’s been almost two weeks since going to this one but, I have to say it’s the best captain d’s I’ve ever been to.
The young man behind the counter was incredible he was handling the counter, drive thru and get food to tables with a great smile the whole time. You don’t see to many employees working so hard. He’s going places. He had a very unique name and it was lunch time.
