At our Madisonville, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Placed my order, a supreme sampler and a regular drink. I was given a table market and told they would bring my food out. I sat there for 25 minutes and still had not received my order. 3 other tables with larger orders recorded their food. I went to the counter and the food was sitting there while they proceeded to finish other orders before even acknowledging my existence. With that long of a wait you would expect the food to be so hot you had to wait to eat it. Nope, I had to eat it relatively fast before it got too cold. Definitely not my best experience at this location. The location was not that busy at the time either.

I did drive through so i could not rate the atmosphere, but it has always been nice and clean.The cheesecake definitely does not taste like it is from the cheesecake factory.

Food is always pretty good. This time I ordered the sampler but asked to replace the 2 pieces if chicken with fish. I got 1 piece if fish in its place. I expected 2 and when I asked about it the lady behind the counter said “That’s just the way it works” . I don’t eat here very often but the service and atmosphere are about the same when I do……meh.

First of all… you never know if this place is open. Went on a whim, and it was. Ordered a Sweet Tea at the window with the Lobster Rolls and Fries. Food tasted like it was sitting all day and they were just serving to get rid of it. Nothing was hot. Fries were cold. Also, after my order was taken, I was informed they just dumped all the sweet tea after taking my payment. Had I known sooner, I would have went elsewhere. This place is disappointing, and with no adult manager on duty, it is apparent that you will get least minimum effort.

This was our first dinner from Captain D’s. We went through the drive thru. Our order taker was friendly and helpful. I ordered the seafood feast. My boyfriend had the blackened fish and my dad had the fried cod dinner. The fried food was crispy. All of the food was nice and hot. The best part is that we didn’t have to wait long to get it and our order was correct. Great job!
