At our Athens, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Considering the pricing for this “fast food”, it is really a great deal. Love the new restaurant floor plan layout. Some items on menu are NOT “fast food” and I think Captain D’s would achieve greater customer experiences and satisfaction if they would make effort to inform their customers of this. Some items cooked to order and slows down drive-through service. Well, Captain D’s is NOT a fast food restaurant. Eating healthy easy to do. The salmon is tasty, with rice and broccoli my favorite healthy choice. The catfish is highly recommended too. For dessert, I suggest the New York cheesecake.

I’ve honestly never had a bad experience here but today topped off all of the past visits. I got a 3 piece fish with okra for my sides and hush puppies of course and I have to say the evening shift did a damn good job on the food. It was super fresh and on point. Thank you for that.

Even though they no longer have the lobster rolls (I love those) I purchased the meal the cashier recommended and I really enjoyed it. It was the fish and battered shrimp meal. I also purchased an additional 4 pieces of battered shrimp. I am so glad I did! They were wonderful!! They were hot, fresh and good size too. I will definitely be back!

Ordered 3 pc catfish, baked potato and green beans. Noticed the fish is smelly and didn’t taste good. Almost like it was under cooked or old. Really disappointed because usually your fish is great.

Wow, I have never had a bad experience here and think if I did that I would speak to an employee. Everyone is attentive, nice and friendly. The drive thru flows smoothly at an appropriate rate for fresh food. I have always loved the stuff crabs but keep forgetting to order them lately.
