At our White House, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This was a last minute dinner suggestion. We ate here over a year ago and I just remember the service being great, but the food was super oily and greasy. This time it was pretty good. I got the 4 piece batter dipped fish meal with double fries. I don’t know what kind of fish it was, but it was pretty good. The fries were a bit stale and coldish though. He got the 4 piece catfish meal with fried Ocra and green beans. He liked it and I had a taste of the catfish. It was excellent for fast food seafood. The hushpuppies were good too. Service was great and the place was clean. I’m looking forward to trying their grilled options.

Placed an online order for 2 meals! Got there and waited in drive thru window for 12 minutes for our food. They didn’t even acknowledge me to tell me what I was waiting for!! so I expected to get home and find it ALL freshly cooked and hot! Quite the opposite! It was barely warm food, mushy fried okra, soggy fried fish and shrimp. And tiny tenders– 2-3 small bites worth. NASTY!! If I could do 0 stars, I would! Plus they didn’t even put all the food that included in one of the meals AND I noted that there is “HIGHLY allergic to onions, so NO crab cakes, but they still put them in”. I called and talked to the manager and she said “they just didn’t see/ read the notes or it must’ve been cut off”, but it clearly shows my notes on my email receipt! This is why we do NOT go there very often, but wanted something different than burgers or tacos, etc.

Ordered the lobster rolls and there was hardly any lobster salad on it. Never has lettuce like it the picture. The air was so full of grease thought out the restaurant and it was extremely unpleasant.

I posted five stars on this place 3 years ago however just like every other fast food restaurant in White House this place is gone downhill. I ordered the four piece fish dinner and this is what it looked like. These are not fish fillets they’re more like fish sticks. I paid $12 for this crap? I don’t know if this is just Captain D’s or if it’s just the White House location but I will not be going there anymore… What a waste!!! They wasn’t even tasty actually disgusting!!! Do better!!!

The food was kind of cold, it seemed smaller than usual, They forgot our cheesecake, went all the way back to get it and they gave me the smallest slice I have ever seen after forgettingaboutthe situationand tryingto charge me again. You can get double the cheesecake across the street for the same price and you don’t have to worry about them forgetting it.

We enjoyed our dinner at the White House Captain D’s on Wednesday night. I got one of my favorites (the senior grilled Tilapia) with green beans and broccoli and my husband got the lobster rolls with french fries meal. The crew that was there (McKenzie, Paul, and Gracie) did a great job of taking our order, preparing our food, and providing us with a tasty meal that was also satisfying! They all worked efficiently, had pleasant personalities, and maintained great attitudes. They consistently greet us with smiling faces and make us feel welcomed whenever we visit. Although Ms. Joyce and Brianna weren’t there during our visit, they too take great care of us and consistently represent Captain D’s in a positive light. Y’all are lucky to have the team of workers that work hard and provide many folks with a very pleasant dining experience. Keep up the good work, and thanks for making us smile! Written on 3/9/25

I always eat here at least once a week there is always a technical issue wrong side or fish or wrong plate well today I again received wrong side for my order and no vinagar or tartar for my plate so i called the manager acted as if it was my fault and told me I wasn’t getting a refund so I told him I was on my way and hung up as he didn’t carry himself to be responsible for them kids in there or care about my money I spent on my food. Now I’m 15 miles into my trip for dinner again and have my refund as his attitude changed in person the guy needs to know to when u have kids and or training or not how to talk on the phone because I understand mistakes happen but if u have that collar shirt or button up on and ur the manager and you want to talk crazy the right person will call ur bluff. I however am the right person I didn’t get out of character because I understand mistakes happen and there’s kids in this store the guy shouldn’t be taking calls or even a manager if he isn’t going to present himself as such. Now had it been all adults in there and he tried that wen I got there I wouldn’t stepped out of my own character after the way he was on the phone.If you have a kid that works at this store make sure they are keeping the manager in check as he is responsible for them. People are crazy especially over there money even more so over there food and time the so don’t act crazy on the phone with folks not everybody wants a free meal . 10 miles there ten back and I got subway but wanted captain Ds (ThankYou Come Again)
