At our Selma, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

On 2/7, I placed an online order and when I went to pick it up, I was told they didnt get an order. I showed the receipt and that my card had been charged. After waiting 15 minutes, I said where is my food? The cashier said “you need to be patient.” I said what do you mean…I place my order a long time ago. I waited another 10-15 minutes and now I am angry. I told them that I wanted my money or my food. Th manager told them to “ignore” me so they did just that. As I got angrier, I told them they can’t just take people’s money and this is not the end and I left to keep from goig to jail.

Amazing service! The red-haired cashier was super sweet and friendly, and even the staff in the back acknowledged me when I went to grab some extra ketchup. The food came out hot and tasty. Definitely a great experience!

Well I was in the town of Selma visiting and stopped by the restaurant. I was disappointed that my okra was burned and cold along with my fish. It looked like the staff were having a busy and hard day. Will try them one more time for good measure.

There was more dough than fish. The presentation of my meal lacked appeal. The food was hot, but the fries were a bit salty. They gave me the fries, no salt that I requested. However, it’s my belief that their grease was full of salt.

I like the fact that they make sure your food is fresh, but the wait time is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and I’m surprised no one had spoken up about it. I went to order a grilled white fish dinner on my lunch break, but couldn’t even get it without risking being late to work. I only had 30 minutes. Yet, they managed to use majority of it. I had to drive off and leave the food behind just to make it back to work on time. smh

Purchased the spicy fish combo at the Selma Captain D’s and NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING was good about the combo. The fish was dry as if it was fried to long and usually you get 2 pieces of fish in the plate, but there was only 1 piece of fish. I added an extra piece of fish @$2.59, I could have gotten another combo plate for a few dollars more. These restaurants are price gouging their customers and not giving them the quality or quantity that they pay for. They don’t deserve a rating except all thumbs down rating!!!

Always on point, just in time & exactly what you needed when you want a seafood fix without ridiculous price tag. Employees punctual smiles & in compliance. Hair nets on something you don’t see anymore really. Great job employees.

Haven’t had Captain D’s since I was a kid, came and paid $45 and the meals don’t even come with a drink!! What the actual heck! Had us pay an up charge for Mac and cheese and didn’t even have it, didn’t give us a refund had us choose a replacement and barely gave us any food!
