At our Dothan, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Enjoyed a 3 piece batter dipped plate for dinner. It was all delicious except the hushpuppies were EXTREMELY greasy. Thats never happened before so not sure what changed bi couldn’t eat them. Grease just came pouring out..

Have not eaten there in years. Went to order online 01/25/26 because my grandson had the flu and was going to grab him something to eat with no contact. None of the locations (even Ozark) were not taking online orders! You simply are not going to exist much longer in this market if you aren’t doing online orders. My daughter in law decided just to go through the drive through at another restaurant just based on principle.

My Mom went to the Captain D’s at 3395 Ross Clark Circle in Dothan yesterday, and there was no one around. Nobody was in the lobby or behind the counter. She waited for about 5 mins. Then, left to go to the Crackle Barrel. She was concerned about them closing up the restaurant, so I called them today and asked them if they were in operation. The lad stated yes. I explained what happened with my Mom, and all he could say was that he was sorry that happened. This is not good business. Food is good, but service here lately has been terrible.

THE GRILL IS ALWAYS DOWN. And they’re always closing earlier than the website says. Go to southside save yourself the trip and avoid this one. Service is not good at all. We avoid this location and go to southside. The side situation on the plates are not really logical. For okra and baked potatoes, Mac & cheese it’s 0.99 cent extra? I don’t understand that and they’re very stingy with sauces.

Will not be back to this location. The staff is lazy, dishonest, and lack even basic customer service skills. They never offer the Add-on that they’re supposed to offer you, so this time I finally said something about it. The girl gets the manager and he tells me that the sign said that I was supposed to say something at the order box, not the window, and then refused to give me the complimentary Add-on that was promised on the menu. I drove back around to double-check, and sure enough he was lying or mistaken. Good service is more important to me than a beautiful golden fry on the fish. They lost a repeat customer over a cheap Add-on.

Picked up food from this location, the wait took about 10 minutes. The fries were cold and soggy (debatable on if it was due to the drive or just old fries). The hush puppies were rock hard, but the fish was good. The mac n cheese was not in a separate container, so the cheese got all over the rest of the to go box

Will not be back. Bad service and either the manager or shift leader is rude and disrespectful. They ran out of an item I had in two different dinners so I requested a refund. They voided my ticket and I asked for a copy of the original receipt and I was told she couldn’t give that to me and that my voided ticket was my receipt. I then asked for the manager and she said she couldn’t give that info to me and said it was on my voided ticket. I asked for her name and she leaned into the drive thru and told me her name ( don’t remember know because of what she did next) and the she placed her chin on her wrist smiled and batted her eyes and shut the window.

Food was as ordered and hot. Cole slaw did not taste good. The baked potato was not completely cooked. We noticed mold above 6 windows.
