At our Scottsboro, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I pulled into captain d’s around 12:30 today and it was packed. I ordered a 3 piece dinner and it was the best tasting fish ive had in a while. Everything was cooked perfectly . I can see that the Scottsborro restaurants employees and management take pride in the food they serve.

Whoever was running the drive thru tonight (1/18/26) was extremely RUDE! she complained that they’d have to make more hush puppies. The cole slaw tasted days old. The fries were soggy and not good at all. Very disappointed in the food and service tonight. The girl running the drive thru DOESN’T NEED TO WORK WITH THE PUBLIC!!

Food was hot and fresh!! Tea was delicious. Dining room and bathrooms were clean. Employees were very friendly and welcomed when we came in. It was Senior day. They were extremely busy but we received our order not long after we ordered. Employees were keeping tables clean and trash taken out. This is cleanest Captain D’s I have been to in years!! Great job!!

Being from Wisconsin this was our first experience with a Captain D’s. It is essentially a fast food seafood place. My wife and I shared a platter which was enough food for both of us. I enjoyed the fish which was very tasty.
Overall it was a cool experience to try something different that we don’t have in Wisconsin.

FANTASTIC FOOD! I have came here 3x already in a month and the food has always been so fresh and hot. Workers are very nice! Dining area is always clean. I will continue to come here when in the area.
