At our Trussville, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

(I visited 2/5/26) I had the most amazing experience at the trussville location. The general manager, I think her name was Shayla is the perfect person for her role. Her and her team were in great spirits. Let’s not forget the food was so fresh!

Stopped in for lunch while in town and was rewarded with great service and good food. The lady behind the counter was so pleasant as she waited on us at the counter, car in the drive through and brought food out to the customer sitting at the tables. She never complained once and always had a smile on her face. This is what makes for a great location. The food came out as ordered hot and fresh. It’s always delicious regardless of what location you stop at. When I’m back in town I will return to this location for a meal again. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

I came to this establishment during lunch hours last Wednesday, November 26th, 2025 and it was a very pleasant experience. I ordered and talked with a young lady name Keziah and she had the best attitude. She was very helpful when it came to ordering and was very polite. Absolutely ridiculous and disappointing order of funnel cake sticks. Hardly ANY powdered sugar on them at all!!!! The best part!!! The kids on the back preparing the food need to be more focused on their jobs than communicating and playing on their phones with their friends. Very disappointing and unprofessional

Waited for 45 minutes for the store to open and then five minutes after the time somebody finally comes to tell me that they can’t open because they don’t have enough staff. It would’ve been nice before I waited so long. I was really looking forward to eating here today but things happen and I understand. Just figured I’d let anybody else know this looking at coming today. They may be a few minutes for the open.

I ordered a family feast with Mac and cheese and green beans. I patiently waited exactly 48 minutes in the drive thru to receive fish cooked in black oil, Mac in cheese with maybe 3 scoops in it and burned cheese on the side of the container. This is extremely bad service. I was patient when the manager said they was out of okra, hush puppies, tartar sauce and that they was cooking out of 1 pot. I asked him if the order was correct and he assured me it was, only for ke to arrive home to a mess. This is awful and I would never provide this type service to anyone. Beyond dissatisfied.

The food we purchased around 6 pm was burned or fried too hard to even eat. The only thing we were able to eat was the fries, and they were cold! This was unacceptable, and when we tried to call the location, no one answered call for 45 minutes.

Need a manger who will be on site to monitor these young adults who spent more time playing than getting orders rights. And then getting an attitude when you waiting an extra 15 minutes for your correct order . Only one young lady in the establishment acted with sense. Shout out to her.
