At our Jacksonville, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

It’s very frustrating to always come to this location on my lunch break and having to leave empty handed. I stayed in line today for 15 mins just waiting to pay for my food and having to leave with no food because they were taking way too long to get to me! This has happened multiple times . I would just like to get my food in a decent time frame and get back to work . You guys have to fix this !

Horrible Customer Service at 9:25pm on March 1st, 2026. We understand they are closing at 10pm, however 9:25pm is not 10pm last time we all went to school. We pulled up the mic, the woman working (Mar 1, closing shift) comes to the mic and says “be with you in a few”. We waited 7-10 mins before we started to speak out and ask if anyone was there. After another min or so we pulled up to the window, the lady walks past the window, looks at us, rolls her eyes and proceeds to walk to the back of the restaurant. At that point we knew she didn’t want to be at work, she was going to be rude and didn’t want any harm done to our food because of her attitude. We left very disappointed in the fact that the restaurant should close at 9, if they don’t want to serve anyone. But they would probably treat someone the same at 8:30.

I ordered multiple family meals not only was the food all correct and hot and absolutely delicious, the service and hospitality that I received from Ms Myra was phenomenal that the food could have been bad and I still would have not cared. She was kind, warm, and the friendliest person I have interacted with in a while. She needs a raise I don’t care how much she makes now. She absolutely deserves it!! Much love to her care for my familys order.

I eat at this Main St. Location frequently, and the food is always hot fresh and delicious. They cashiers and cooks are all very friendly and welcoming. If you’re ever in the area, especially around lunch time I highly recommend this Captain D’s location.

The fish dinner was not good. They might have changed products…the coating was off, as well as the taste of the fish. The person who took the order was visibly upset about the loss of their iPhone, but her situation had little to do with what was coming from the kitchen. There was a lack of condiments, no ketchup was available. Signs of a weak management, not having supplies that are often requested.
The cats turned their back to the fish leftovers. This location has had several issues in the past and I try to be understanding. It’s time to walk away since this is not the first bad experience.

This place has fallen off. Perhaps, y’all shouldn’t have added chicken to your menu. If I wanted chicken I’d go to a fast food chicken place. I don’t want fish that tastes like chicken. I want fish that tastes like fish!!! I don’t know what’s going but I’ve gone to two separate restaurants where the fish I used to love not only has gone down in flavor but tastes like chicken. I even waited a while between visits. No change. I will not patronize here for a while. I want my seafood to taste how it’s supposed to taste. The presentation and customer service has been nice but the fare has been a thumbs down.

0 acknowledgement from staff, walked in, waited 10 minites and then left. They were doing a shift change and counting the drawer down. So instead of taking our order, they did paper work and messed with the registers at 4pm. At the start of dinner rush. Went to burger king instead.

I had to change the points because I went there a week ago at 11am and it was locked up tighter than a drum!!! I sat in the drive thru like a nut waiting for someone to say can I help you!!! I left and drove around to the windows and low and behold…the place was empty. This was on a Sunday at 11am. There was no sign saying they were not gonna be open. These fast food places are cray. They refuse to hire worthy people to work there!!! Everyone needs to be fired and start from scratch all over again. Most people probably quit because of the pay or conditions but it’s not the public fault there hiring people who won’t show up! Whatever the cause it’s not our fault! But whether ur open or not it’s always an issue. In one year, I’ve had to good experiences here!!!

Love their Spicy Giant fish sandwich. Everytime I’ve ordered one from different locations. They’ve always been on point. I ordered 2 recently and they only gave me one. I didn’t realize until I got home. I brought in the receipt the next day and they made it right. No questions asked. Great service.
