At our Columbus, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

There aren’t any Captain D’s where I live, so I can only get it in the south when I’m down here. I did the drive-thru for an early lunch. The ultimate feast was good; I got okra and fries (which were perfectly crispy). The fish was good as usual; not as greasy as LJS, and with a lighter flavor. Shrimp & stuffed crab were great as well. Good customer service at the drive thru.

Friend recommended the catfish sandwiches so we decided to try them yesterday. Got them home and they was so salty u couldn’t eat them. My husband’s blood pressure went up with just the few bites he took. Tried to call them to see about a refund or maybe something else couldn’t get thru. Wouldn’t answer the phone. Today (2-17-26) finally get thru and shift manager Akila(may be spelled wrong) makes all the excuses as to why they are salty and she has high blood pressure too blah blah blah. But no refund or even something different but says all the fish has same salty batter. They don’t make it up themselves just add water. There’s nothing they can do about the batter. I personally call BS on this. And not answering the phone is another thing. They wasn’t even bust yesterday when we bought the sandwiches and when we got home and tried them was only about 20 mins later so 30 mins at most and I tried calling from 330-7pm. Called today and got thru at almost 4 and answered on first ring. Something is wrong here.
Very unsatisfied customer who actually lives Captain Ds but had never tried this particular catfish sandwich.

I ordered a 4 pc. Country style fish meal w/ green beans and broccoli. What I paid for, I didn’t receive as ordered. I’m very disappointed with the service. You can look at the plate and see that the fish sticks are different from the fish crumbs that’s not even on the menu. Total buss

The tall man with glasses who suppose to be the manager was so Disrespectful!!! He was on the phone and trying to take my order at the same time and tried to charge me 14 dollars for the 5.99 meal and 1 piece of fish.. Then he offered another customer the 1.99 Add em on deal but not me! So when I ask him why I didn’t get the deal he said oh I was on the when I took your order so what you want me to do about that man was so Disrespectful to the point other customer was like damn that’s not right Never will I eat here Again and waste my money….

On The 11th of September I went by the restaurant to order the white grill fish dinner. It looked nor taste as the menu described. It was cooked to hard with no flavor the rice was very dry no even season. I really got choked on my first bite. Seems like it was thrown in a microwave and cook! You can’t serve the customer anything and thinks that’s ok. I paid 11.00 and some change for a bad experience. Won’t be visiting there again. Food is a very delicate place. Employees should be very carefully handling people food. We are the people who keep you all in business!

I ordered my meal from here through Uber eats. Everything was good for the most part except the chicken strips. They were hard and dry as you can tell they were old. Fish, shrimp, and fries were fresh for the most part.

I went to the Macon Rd(Columbus, Ga) location last night to pick up an online order and the employees are so rude and ungrateful. If you want to remain in business you may want to clean house and bring in people that are mature and grateful. The decision is yours and the business is yours but i will not be eating at any Captain D restaurants again in this lifetime. It’s sad but it’s not a good idea for anyone to patronize where they’re not wanted. Your night shift is atrocious.

This is probably one of the worst Captain Ds locations. While the food is as you would expect of Captain Ds, the service is consistently terrible. It is as if this location deliberately hires the rudest and most incompetent individuals to run this store. The last two times I have visited this store (detailed below) are what warrant this review.
Two visits ago, I drove up to the speaker and told the employee I had a question about the menu. Her immediate response was to tell me to look at the menu! My question was about a special they had very recently run, but I couldn’t see information about it. In any case, when I told her I wanted to know if they were still running the special, she replied “is it on our menu?” Extremely inappropriate and poor customer service on her part! To make matters worse, I noticed after paying that she had rung up the wrong items and over charged me by $2.74. When I told her of the issue, she made me hand back the whole bag she had handed me- which I was told was a health related violation when I worked fast food in college- and I believe proceeded to talk about me and my father through the closed window based on her gestures and repeated glances our way. When she finally gave back the bag after waiting more than ten minutes for the order to be corrected, I was still initially shorted part of the order! I asked for what was missing, and she rolled her eyes at me. After giving me the item, I asked for our refund since we had been overcharged. She proceeded to hand me $2, but since we had been overcharged by $2.74, I again asked her for the refund. She proceeded by very loudly sighing and handing me the change. I was nothing but polite and patient with her, but I cannot say the same of her. Very rude and curt with me through the whole interaction.
A few weeks later- yesterday- I went back to give this location a second chance. I was shorted once again, but I did not notice until I got home. I called to ask if I could get the rest of my order, and that manager was actually very helpful and nice. She told me to come back through, give my name, and they would give me what was shorted. Because I am sick, I asked family to pick it up for me today. The manager a few minutes ago was apparently very different from the one I spoke with yesterday, because he was very rude to my mother. Even repeatedly insinuated that she was a liar! And surprise surprise, the order my mother placed for herself still wasn’t accurate!
There’s no excuse for such poor customer service and a terrible level of order accuracy. If you want Captain Ds in Columbus, just go to Manchester or Airport Thruway.
