At our Waycross, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Okay, they are clearly under new management and definitely have redeemed themselves. This is my second favorite seafood spot in Waycross GA, based off of how good they cook their seafood and how fresh it is. This food was so good the other day I got from Captain D’s, I instantly said I needed to update my review. Because the food was perfect..10 outta 10 recommend this Captain D’s location! Drive thru person as extremely friendly and helpful..insert picture below of what I purchased. Veggies and Fish and it was a hit!

Brunette Lady at the drive thru tells me Hush puppies come with the meal I said oh okay. Then once I get it it’s not there :/. There was not a single soul inside or in the drive thru during the 10 mins I was there. Disappointed. My only guess is that she’s untrained and unsupervised which is bad on the management and not her. But whatever the case may be I hope you guys figure it out and goodluck!!

As someone who isn’t a big seafood lover, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Captain D’s. The menu offers a variety of options, and I found their grilled chicken and side dishes to be quite tasty. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. My friends who enjoy seafood were very pleased with their meals, so it’s definitely a good spot for mixed preferences. Overall, a great place to dine even if seafood isn’t your first choice.

Ordered a 4 piece fish meal. The drive-thru wasn’t working and the sign said drive around. I asked for extra tartar sauce and vinegar. I received extra tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, no vinegar. Food was great. Service was friendly but disappointed that I didn’t receive my vinegar. The wait due to the drive thru not working was the biggest annoyance.

Great place to eat our food was brought to the table as soon as we sat down. The same lady has served us the last 3 times we came to town to eat there. She is wonderful the receipt shows her name as Tina. Hands down the best service in town.

The African American girl that was at the drive -through window last night was great. I think she said her name was ” Angelica or Angela” , I can’t remember but she has such a great demeanor about her and she was so professional and courtes.

I Love Captain D’s with a passion. My favorite is the Pollock fish. I’m a fan of their hush puppies and okra also. I tried the Gumbo and it tastes great but I think it’s overly priced for the portion they serve especially when there’s not much meat inside it. I won’t order the Gumbo again.

The food was great, fresh and tasted great. But someone please talk to Cherry or Sherry, whatever her name is about her customer service skills. You would think Capt D’s is paying her millions- the way she behaved about a senior meal and tartar sauce. For context, I ate in the restaurant with my friend and asked for a packet is tartar sauce to- go and she refused, stating that their truck was late and it was only being given to drive thru customers, which was BS. The truck begin late is for one, not my problem. I am a paying customer. Now, let me tell you why Cherry/Sherry was really pissed. My friend and I were ordering food and my friend requested the senior meal. Cherry/Sherry responds with “oh honey she’s not old enough for that”- referring to me, BUT my friend is indeed old enough. So Cherry/Sherry had to give her the meal and for some reason that pissed her off. Like Capt D’s is still going to pay you minimal wage, but you acting like your salary is affected for giving someone a senior discount. Do better- and whoever is her boss, please give her a customer service refresher and let her know it’s not that serious.
