At our Pooler, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I absolutely thought the service was great and the food was good as always, the only reason I didn’t but 5 stars is because the fish had excessive batter which I pulled off but the the flavor and everything else about it was really good and the sides were as well. I will be returning to this location because of the great service and because the food is always good, I’ve never had an issue before and it really wasn’t a major one!

We were going to dine in, but were met at the door by a young man apologizing that they were closing the dining room early. We could go through the drive thru and still order. We almost went elsewhere and now wish we had. One thing is for sure… they have an over abundance of salt and grease. I could not eat the green beans for the salt, and when I cut into my fish, it was like a grease fountain. The fries were cold and soggy. It is sad to say the best part of my meal was the malt vinegar.
