At our Pooler, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The restraunt score was an 80, and we were walking out until another customer stopped us and said it has cleaned up a lot with new employees since that inspection. So we gave it a chance. Employee was friendly the place was clean and the food came out fresh. Will go back. They do not do Veterans discount

I haven’t seen Captain D’s much since moving to California over 35 years ago, so I was pleased, if not amazed, that they were still around. I remembered them being (for me) a fish, fries, and a soda kind of place. I was pleasantly surprised to see a considerably more diverse menu that included salmon, lobster bites, and chicken options. Thank you guys for hanging in there so I could enjoy a little bit of nostalgia from my youth. I told the crew of my delight in finding the franchise still thriving. Thanks guys!

UPDATE: I give very true reviews so this one must be updated due to the very poor experience. The fish was dark and old and full of dripping oil. Fries were old…cold,and so were the hush puppies. It makes no sense why we were given such nasty food. It is truly unacceptable and such a shame. The store was not busy or slammed so there is no reason to treat us so poorly with that nasty food. People can get sick like me from old fish. Let’s get into it. Food is always hot and fresh. It is really good

First time at a Captian D’s. I was excited as I’ve always loved Long Johns. Ordered the biggest plattery they had. This thing had everything and everything was great. The only thing I didnt really care for is that stuffed crab shell you see there. It was more like a hush puppy stuffed into a crab shell. Didnt taste seafoody or crab as you would expect from the way this looks. The sides were amazing, especially the corn, very sweet and tasty. The fish was great the scallops, shrimp, everything very satisfying. I will be back again.
