At our Forsyth, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Now I remember why we stopped going to Captain D’s. Whatever you do check your food before leaving with take out. Drove home 20 minutes to find raw potatoes, burnt corn, over cooked rubbery shrimp and clams , what I didn’t find was the crab cakes paid extra for and hush puppies that normally come with what you order. Called to complain, got a “refund” doesn’t solve my issue of feeding my grandkids tonight but when I go back I can get the order again free ( I’m guessing that’s the refund), why would I go back just to get horrible food all over again.

Shrimps were mushy once you bit into them and had a very weird taste to them along with the fish. Its like the grease may have been bad. The fries were cold.
Potato was very hard.
This is with waiting in the drive thru for 15mins for the food.
We’re not locals therefore turning around was not an option. I did call and speak with the manager in hopes of being compensated if/whenever I am back in town (Thank you) because throwing $25 plus away in today’s hard times doesn’t sit well with me.

Just waited in line 20 minutes and then pulled up as the lady at the window told me her headset was dead! Then placed my order, got to my destination and the food is COLD!! Can’t go back either!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! 0/10!

The Deluxe Platter is the best. The food is tasty and fresh. They have crab cakes and the best flavored corn. The fried shrimp is very good. Inijah was the sweet lady that took our order. She was a pleasure

I have always bragged on this location. We even travel a little further to eat here because the food is better and the service is great! The last two visits have been disappointing. Did you all change the brand of fish? It tastes very different and not in a good way. Please change the grease. Everything was extremely greasy and overcooked.

I waited in line in the drive through for twenty minutes i placed my order. Got up to the window, paid for it, and I didn’t look at it because they looked at the bag 3 times there was two different people opening and closing the bag when I got home. It looked like I got someone’s leftover.I ordered the captain d’s seafood platter deluxe. I got leftover French fries. I am I don’t even know what kind of meat that was. I took it back up there and they look confused at heck. I will never go back to captain. D’s ever again because they got ignorant. People working for them that don’t know nothing. Furthermore one of the cashiers his pants were down and falling down and all you seen was his underwear which is disgusting,You don’t go to a place of business to eat just to someone’s underwear this place is totally disgusting. They need new employees, no doubt.

On Sunday 11/17/2025 my husband and I walked into this pigsty of a restaurant. Boy was it nasty!!! The lead cashier was in the back eating where food is supposed to be prepared. Trash was overflowing, the condiments containers were filthy, and the floors looked as if they had not been mopped in five years! The customer service wasn’t needed because upon eyeing this mess I decided not to order. In my opinion this place needs to be shut down and properly cleaned.

What has happened to Captain D’s in Forsyth, Georgia?? Ever since the sweet woman who worked there for 38 years retired the place has turned down & today… Absolutely horrible! Hush puppies were mushy, fried shrimp had been sitting so long they were limp & the coleslaw was turning sour. SAD because it used to be excellent

Order the fish sandwich and a large fry. The large fry was almost $4 and they gave me a pathetic amount plus it was soggy. The fish sandwich bun was also burned. Please see pictures. With everything it came out to around $9.50 and it was definitely not worth it.
