At our Dahlonega, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

For a fast-food seafood chain, this place is pretty good. The service here is usually excellent, and the restaurant is clean. I had the Giant Fish sandwich last night and was pretty impressed overall. I’m disappointed that the fried oysters are no longer on the mobile app, but I was glad to find they still had some available.
Update: the claims were small with tons of very small pieces. I was suppose to get 5 shrimp but only got 4. This was over $6 and was a terrible value.

Wild Homestead
This is by far the nicest, cleanest, Captain D’s I’ve ever been to. The restroom was clean, the tables were clean, store felt nice. The staff was nice and kept busy, and the store shows their hard work. Food was great! So nice to have a clean atmosphere to eat it in.

I used to think Capt D’ was overpriced. But they now have a couple of specials that make the cost a little less than McDonalds and many of the other fast food placed. Given a choice between a couple of pieces of fish and a couple of shrimp, hushpupies and a side and a drink … it wind! Total cost is between $6 – $7 … a little more if you pick a premium side. This is a report on the ine in Dahlonega, GA … I am assuming that they all have he same menu and deals.

We made a phone order that magically became 15 dollars more upon arrival, didnt have it as I was on a lunch run with other people money. You would have to be insane to pay that kind of money for that low grade dog food! Never again capt, never again!!!

Captain D’s definitely surprised me. I thought this was going to be another subpar fast food seafood place, but after reading some reviews, I decided to give it a shot. It was worth it. Their seafood is delicious. They have a large menu to choose from and a few seasoning flavors to pick from. I picked lemon pepper on both dishes. I had the ultimate seafood platter, which is fried, and the fish and shrimp grilled platter. You get two sides to pick from in a platter.
