At our Anderson, SC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Waited 15 minutes in the drive trough for my order to be taken with no other customer before me. Asked for Ds sauce and was told to remind after the order was filled. Waited another 20 minutes for my order to be finished. Imagine still no sauce. No real effort or care was put into my experience. I do not recommend.

02/24/26 Well, I will try once again to post here and wait for someone to straighten this restaurant out again like happened a few months ago.
*** Management, please comment on this post to tell me “When I should come back” for I do like Captain D’s food but don’t waste your comment here on the usual canned response for I won’t waste my time again until you straighten it out ***
I went there for dinner a couple of days ago and stood there at the register with no one else in line and never even got looked at by the person working the front so I walked out once again.
Then yesterday I drove by a little after 6:00pm looked over and there wasn’t a car in the parking lot except for one in the drive-through and this speaks volumes.
I never understood the priority that is given by many restaurants to the drive-through people over the people dining inside. It should be vice versa because we made the effort to get out of our vehicle and come inside.
It seems to me that you may be having trouble getting and keeping GOOD help because you expect the person working the front to wait on the drive-through and the people dining inside.
If this is so then shut the drive-through down and post it so people will know to come inside.
I think this was the case a few months ago when I posted that you could never find the dining room open just the drive-through.
Shortly thereafter I tried it again and the problem was fixed and I had a kind and efficient manager working the front that had no problem doing both.
Captains D’s cooks the fish fresh and I don’t care to have the fresh hot crispy fish put in a container to get fogged up and soggy after going through the drive through.
If you all could maintain control of this restaurant and keep it you would do well for people like your food like I do and Anderson deserves and needs a functional Captain D’s.

To the African American youth girl working the front with the very long braids, on 12/12/25 around 5ish, your sassy remarks and facial expression revoked you from getting a nice tip and a little extra for the holiday of $100.00! Have some respect and get rid of the smart mouth, eye rolls, and sassy attitude! You never know whom you may encounter that could Bless you! To the owner the food was delicious and the restaurant was very clean!

if i could give this place less than 1 star i would… pulled up to the drive thru and was told to hold on a min.. which is fine… but continued to hold on for about 10 more minutes. not a sole was in the deive thru or in the parking lot.. about 5 cars accumulated behind us and we said “are yall open” bc its been over 10 min and some rude girl got an attitude telling us to continue holding on…

Have absolutely no help! Service is terrible and is always backed up on Sundays with people walking out! Should close down if can’t do no better. Food is usually good but not worth the service!

For Fast Food seafood, the food isn’t bad. But honestly, you are better off if you get it to go. The staff is constantly screaming at each other, even if only to pass orders to each other. It is quite unpleasant to be near. I don’t expect a library, but I shouldn’t be wishing I had brought ear plugs either.C.

I splurged on some fast food….been a long time as we don’t eat it. Decided I wanted some fried fish…terrible decision. Employees were great…food is 1/4 what portions should look like and it was like 40 bucks for two plates of garbage. 10 years ago it was decent

Come on Wednesdays and have that senior meal. Save yourself some money you’ll thank me later. The place doesn’t get much traction around there anymore it seems like with the food was still pretty good. We got three shrimp a piece of fish fries and coleslaw hush puppies for $5.99

We really hated it when Captain D’s closed their Easley location. That location by far was the best overall. So, this location, the building itself appears older and not kept up. Walking in, the door is dirty (or needs painting), tables needed wiping down, floors looked dirty. Food was good. Cooked perfectly. Atmosphere, best I can describe, because of the lack of care for the inside of the building, dingy. We’d return for the food.

Normally I never have an issue with what I order from this particular location but I just picked up a Big fish sandwich combo and I am very disappointed. The fish wasn’t fresh by no means and a ton of brown lettuce was piled on top. The okra tho was cooked great as usual and delicious. I tried to call several times to return the sandwich later for a remake but the phone line there evidently are not in proper working order.
