At our Parkersburg, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Clean bathrooms and I do mean clean, a rarity in this area. The rest was also clean as can be and the food was done in less than a minute. Nothing to write home about the food, it’s still a greasy but delicious mess. It was hot and cooked properly, you can only make fast food so good after all.
Tip the staff, they are definitely putting in extra effort.

Went there sunday evening 10 /18 /20… NOT GOOD.. The fish was so greasy you couldn’t eat it… And it was covered in little bits of burnt batter…(Pictured below) IT HAD A BAD TASTE… tasted like old oil. There were no hush puppies… I ordered an order of cracklin… There was none… No sauces… I ordered the bread it was in the main container on top of the fish and chicken smashed… The food was nasty but I asked the young man if everything was in the bag and his reply was yes… This place has really went downhill…

Placed an order that cost over $50.00 tonight. Payed for some add ons and French fries was one and I literally got 12 French fries for over 2.00. Not to mention it was the smallest chicken tenders Ive seen in a long time and only received 1 piece of fish. Was nowhere near woth the money I paid. Will not order from them again. Im new to the area and always got great food where I lived in GA. from Captain D’s, not here. The chicken was also an add on so cost even more for this. Not to mention all the hushpuppies looked like a bite had been taken out of them. Thiswas just part of my order as soon as I opened it.

Update: Don’t get the crab cakes, idk what the deal is, we ordered 2 on the side, the first pair were a mess and they replaced them with 2 that were raw, check the pictures, couldn’t eat them.

Don’t go here if you’re starving, because your extreme hunger could cause you to try to eat the food – and that would be a mistake. Even the corn was lousy (how did they manage to ruin that?!?). On the other hand, at least it’s never busy.
Want fish and/or battered chicken, et cetera? Drive to Marietta, Ohio and eat at Long John Silver’s.

Our fish was cold. But my baked potato was hot. It was really good. We both got corn on the cob and it was terrible. It was tough and not sweet at all. They no longer allow you to serve your own drinks. That was a definite minus in my book. But there was a girl going around cleaning everything walks, pictures, tops of booths stuff like that. That was nice to see although I would have preferred that the cleaning wasn’t being done right during dinner rush.

The new chicken they have is really good. Not sure if they have had it changed for awhile because I haven’t been there in a little bit but it’s so much better than what they used to have. The girl that waited on us was helpful and very nice. Never stopped smiling.
