At our Cross Lanes, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Gonna be honest I guess I just haven’t had captain ds in a while but this really just slapped so hard today. I went in with my brother and gram and we got the 5.99 2 piece fish meal and it was just so good so crispy with the tater sauce love the crispy hush puppies. I highly recommend coming in and getting a meal it will be worth especially if you set down and eat it right there in the restaurant while it’s freshest. Staff were kind and we got our food quick.

I used to like this place but it’s losing its charm. The service up front was okay but the food was bad. The fish tasted fine but coleslaw was just ranch mixed with cabbage and fries were hard as rock like they fried it day before. The cashier was nice but she added drink to my order and made me pay without even asking me. I didn’t want drink but since she added I said it’s fine and get to know only lemonade is there. Like why even add?!! If I come for work lunch and spend $15 for a meal, the least I would expect would be for the food to be fresh. Here’s a picture of their coleslaw:

Fish and chicken were scrumptious! The hushpuppies are fried just right and have the perfect crispness. Overall it is a great meal for fast food.

Picked up dinner in the drive thru and the person taking care of us was friendly and accommodating. I haven’t been to a location in a while and didn’t expect the chicken tenders to be hand breaded but they were BIG and 10/10. We asked for an extra ketchup and tartar and received the perfect amount. I’m thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back!

Upon arriving at the restaurant, which I thought was closed due to all the lights outside being off, I was promptly greeted at the speaker. And that’s where all the promptness ended. 27 minutes in a Drive-Thru with only me sitting in it. Food, extremely burnt and substandard, coleslaw all over Inside the Box on top of the okra, fried crabs which were still frozen in the middle and yet somehow almost burnt on the outside, macaroni and cheese that honestly taste like something a cafeteria would have made at school. Overcooked shrimp undercooked Hush Puppies overcooked okra burnt spicy fish, sounds like a great way to end a 14-hour shift at work. You will not be seeing my money again, and I really hope that the owner sees this and reaches out to me. If you choose not to, I completely understand that you are accepting of the substandard practices being performed at this restaurant.

Twice now we ordered a family meal get it home and NO CHICKEN. Then when call them they want to argue and say they put it in the bag herself. Ill never go to this location again.
