The ceviche here is good, the weekend I was in Galveston I tried three of the ceviches, they are exspensive especially being so close to the water. But I probably wouldn’t eat here as much as I would like to. The pacific aguachile was my favorite, the flavor was similar to the mariscos in California (LA) the spice wasn’t crazy hot, it was just right. We had the Captain mixto and the crab ceviche. I was very disappointed that there was no octopus in my bowl. That was my main reason for ordering this bowl. But I had already left so I couldn’t complain. So make sure to ask. The crab ceviche was good and made with real crab, but next time i would stick to the other bowls, like the first 4. Oh and the michelada, was good!! I bought my modelo at the gas station .

When you’re coming down to Galveston, this is definitely a place you wanna make sure that you stop by and enjoy yourself fresh seafood great flavors. It’s attached to the Chevron gas station so don’t let that deter you from finding a spot either next to the gas station or the easy, cash, pawn, jewelry, and gun store

The ceviche was delicious freshly made. You’ll definitely wanna buy more than one bag of chips or get some crackers or tostadas to be able to make sure you can eat all that you want. We thought we’d grab it to go, but once he took out of the bag, end up eating a lobster roll and ceviche right there at the colored picnic tables

The employees are friendly and kind appreciated them explaining the menu and recommending some different dishes

Not cheap with the lobster rolls, but definitely worth it and would highly recommend and look forward to coming back

It is a clean area. Parking is limited, but worth any sort of inconvenience.

First time trying Captains ceviche’s, I ordered a lobster roll. I think it was called the big boy. It did not disappoint loaded high with claw meat and tail meat. The spiciness and creaminess of the mayo gave it The right amount of flavor. And the watermelon aqua Fresca was refreshing a specially, on a hot summer’s day. Definitely will be back.

The picture below is not from Captain Ceviche. It’s what a mixto ceviche should somewhat look like. I had high hopes for this truck. If I was the type to return food and ask for a refund, I would have, I don’t like leaving bad reviews either but this place is so terrible and super expensive I had to. Shame on you Cap, I grew up in a restaurant, operators know exactly what they’re serving, this was horrible. As you can see by some of the other review pictures, which I wish I would’ve looked at before I went, the ceviche here has incredible amounts of diced tomato!, soo much and minimal tiny bits of fish and especially minimal if any octopus in the mixto ceviche, for the most part there was no octopus, but that’s why they put so much diced tomato. You can tell by the dark oxidation of the red onion in ceviche, this was not fresh. The seafood should be the star of the show, not diced tomatoes and Clamato and lime. I don’t know what was bad in the crab ceviche, but something was expired, one bite and I tossed it, my stomach still feels upset 2 days later. My girl had lobster tacos, they were OK, lobster was a bit tough and staff needs to learn how to soften a corn tortilla (try agua). Aquachiles were ok but after the mixto diced tomato expired ceviche disappointment I didn’t wanna risk continuing to eat. If the owners want a good example of ceviche and seafood check out Mariscos Chelis in Wichita, Kansas. I’ll post a picture of a beautiful mixto ceviche I had there last week, note the nice size pieces of seafood. Customer service was good though, Sam was nice but deceptive, in denial or just doesn’t know good seafood. Also, this is one of those places where they don’t have many items from their menu, i.e., salads, agua frescas, red drum ceviche. It’s not locally run, staff drives down from Pasadena. Lobster grilled cheese on menu :/ should’ve been a big red flag too shame on me also. This place is no razita mariscos joint.

A MUST in Galveston. The food was great! It’s tough to find healthy food while traveling, but this hit the spot!
The owner asked us what we typically like and helped us order the best options for us. He even came out later to check on us. His sister was kind and welcoming too. We ordered the crab ceviche and the lobster roll.

Finally made my way to galveston for vacation and had to try them. Had them in Houston and had to get my fix here. Got the hot lobster roll and the shrimp ceviche. Hands the best I’ve had anywhere in Galveston. Not to mention they ran it to my car while it was raining! Great food great service ! Recommend 100/100

Absolutely delicious! I got the lobster roll with an agua de sandia. The lobster roll was so tasty, warm, and perfectly toasted. Best lobster roll on the island for sure. The agua de sandia is sooo good! Refreshing & sweet but not too sweet. I was almost halfway done with it before I took a pic haha. I will definitely be back. Thank you Captain Ceviche!

Guys were really nice. It was our first time trying Captain Ceviche and they took care of us and helped us with our first order here. We tried the Shrimp and the fish ceviche’s. Bothe were really flavorful and were quite filling. We’ll be back, makes a great beach food.

WOW. First time trying and the service was great and the food was delicious and fresh. Ordered the lobster roll and I felt like the amount of lobster was generous for the price I paid – They also have discounts available for students, locals, and others. I did my little happy dance and my boyfriend made grunts of approval while eating it. We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. This is the fastest I’ve made a review and the place deserved it – 10 out of 10 would recommend!
