Capriotti’s is one of my favorite sandwich shops. I am lucky enough to have a Denver location close to my new home and I also frequented the location in South Scottsdale, AZ when I lived there and enjoy that location still when I visit.
This review is for the Scottsdale location. It is very convenient for me and I love quite a few of their sandwiches. They have a line of premium subs featuring American Wagyu roast beef and thise are my go-tos.
My favorites are:
– American Wagyu French Dip featuring Prime Grade Wagyu Beef from Snake River Farms topped with melted Swiss cheese, mayo, and a dash of black pepper & served with a side of hot Au Jus sauce for dipping
– Slaw Be Jo, which features Prime Grade American Wagyu Beef from Snake River Farms, coleslaw, provolone cheese, Russian dressing, and mayo.
I also really like the Capastrami featuring hot pastrami, melty Swiss cheese, crunchy coleslaw, and zesty Russian dressing as well as their line of cheesesteaks.
They have a Bobbie which is like getting a Thanksgiving meal in sandwich form – interesting concept although I haven’t tried yet. I will be back regularly and have joined their rewards program to get some freebies now and again.
I often come here with my brother and we order 2 medium sandwiches and go halfsies so we can sample more of their offerings. They are good enough to be on my rotation and so I will be visiting regularly and exploring more of the menu.

Hands down a fav stop of ours!! We flew in today and landed at Capriotti’s!! Nice n simple salad and soup options and we love the turkey sandwich with coleslaw on it!! Servers are great attitude, have their own opinions and clear communicators—positivity only in 2026. Dipped my guys sandwich in the tomato bisque and it’s wonderful flavor mix.

The woman making sandwiches 15Jan26 at 7:30PM MST is just rude for no reason to customers. The guy working the front is polite. Do not recommend unless you’re into being treated like a middle school student in detention by your sandwich shop.

I’m glad I tried this sandwich shop, I’m never in this area of the valley. Service was fast, pleasant, and a clean restaurant. It was a bit confusing because if you got a large, it’ll come in two individually wrapped sandwiches. I wasn’t peticularly fond of the sandwiches, though.
I ordered hot and sweet peppers on one, and it came with none. I ordered a side of hot peppers, so I used it on my chicken cheese sandwich, which matched very well. There was the tiniest bit of onions and mushrooms, so it felt like just a steak sandwich. I ordered 2 Bobby’s, great in theory, but one had barely any stuffing or cranberry sauce. The other was stuffed full of stuffing and turkey. Order the tuna, and that was great.
My favorite is the fries! Flat steak cut fries were awesome and different. I’d recommend the steak fries. If in the area, I’d go just for the fries.

Met a great friend for lunch. Had been a while, so we stayed for hours. Perfect place for it. Love the downtown Scottsdale area and the historic shops. Service was great, food was excellent. My first cheesesteak. Will definitely go back.

Drove all the way from Surprise to Scottsdale on my birthday to get a sandwich. Hadn’t had one in probably 3 years. Got a chicken cheese steak w mushrooms and onions and threw on some hot peppers for good measure. I absolutely forgot how amazing a capriottis sub really is. One of the highlights of my birthday! I def won’t wait another 3 years to go back!

Although the sandwiches are good, the atmosphere is not pleasant and the staff seems to be unmotivated and unhappy. The shopping center where this location is, is simply an eye sore. Granite, it is in old town, but for Scottsdale, I would expect it to be a little more clean and taken care of. The kitchen in which is visible from the pick up stand point, is simply horrific. Although it appears small and tight, it’s very dirty and seems disorganized. The grill and grill hood both appear to have little to no cleaning as they both are in horrible condition. Grease is literally caked onto the kitchen hood and the grill top is simply black. The kitchen floors appeared black as if they are rarely mopped. As for the staff, a younger guy and girl working the front both on there phones with no urgency. I don’t discourage anyone from going to this location however, if you’d like a more clean, welcoming experience, take the extra 14 min drive and go to the North Scottsdale location. The staff there are always so pleasant to deal with, management seems to keep the place running clean and smooth compared to this run down location.

I’ve gone by this place many times and finally stopped in yesterday. The guy taking my order was very very helpful in suggesting if i wanted to try a few things i could get a half sub and a half salad. Well i first ordered a half cheese steak and chicken balsamic salad with cranberries nuts and blue cheese. That salad was awesome. The cheese steak was very tasty nice cheese taste i believe it was provolone.
When i finished i wanted a little more to eat, so i went back up to the counter and ordered a half meatball sub. The meatballs were moist the sauce was good and it had a nice amount of mozzarella. Even the iced tea was nice and fresh.
There are so many other things i want to try out here.
