Capogna’s Dugout is a casual Italian family restaurant and sports bar that has been serving Clearwater since 1973. Decorated throughout with sports memorabilia detailing our history (we’re the oldest Italian restaurant in the area!), we’ve been a popular hangout for many years–especially with local sports teams for the after the game dinner. We offer a full lunch and dinner menu of appetizers, salads, pizza, hoagies, burgers, chicken and seafood entrees, house specialties and a full bar, but the food of choice here at Capogna’s Dugout is the pizza, which some say is the best pizza in all of Clearwater. Try our Dugout Special! Two seating areas and large groups are always welcome!

I love this place. Cheap Italian food and portions are huge! Always have leftovers. The kegs were awesome. It reminds me of Mac and cheese bites but with potatoes mixed with bacon and other seasonings. The only downside is I wish I got more dressing for my salad and the marinara sauce on chicken parmigiana is a bit cheap. It has that acidic taste to it that a can of marinara sauce has. They do give you more kegs than 4. I just happened to remember to take a pic after eating 2

Loved this place! The food was excellent, but Luke’s service really stood out. He was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Always had a refill when we needed one and had a great attitude. Give that young man a raise!

Just picked up ALL STAR COMBO MARINARA with a salad an hour ago. The combo and salad are so bountiful, delicious and very fairly priced. The marinara sauce is perfect, the variety of pasta flavorful and fun to have a little bit of each type. The salad is plentiful with enough salad and dressing for two meals. I usually don’t care too much for cucumbers but theirs are super firm, fresh and tasty. Staff is superbly professional (get your order correct), personable and efficient. Thank you, so glad you were able to reopen this phenomenal family restaurant!

11/29/21 – This place has a decent lunch menu and specials with most items less than $10. Nothing was extraordinary but a solid lunch location for Italian bar food. This time, I had the calzone and naked wings. The calzone was good. The wings were all drumettes (not sure why there were not flappers) and I ordered the sauce on the side. They were slightly dry but crispy for the nice crunch. The hot sauce, which I was told was made inhouse, was vinegar based and not very hot or complex in flavor. Again, nothing extraordinary but gets the job done. I’ll be back to try some of their other offerings. Definitely worth a try.

1st timers. I have heard so much good chatter about this place. I had the eggplant parmesan with a side of linguine. I loved the sauce. Others at the table got pizza and sandwiches. Great pumpkin beer on tap. Nice friendly service. I will definitely return.

I’ve really tried to support Capona’s because they’re a local, family-owned restaurant, but after several visits I’ve been consistently disappointed. Every time I come in later in the evening, there is an older lady working who rushes us, even when we arrive well before closing. My family and I came in around 8:00 PM, and by 8:30 she was already turning things off and even told my kids they couldn’t play the claw machines. It creates a very unwelcoming atmosphere.
I’ve also had multiple issues with the food over different visits, but I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying again. Unfortunately, the experience hasn’t improved.
On top of that, I’ve witnessed what I believe is the manager, speaking rudely to employees and scolding them in front of customers. Even after being on her phone, she will critique the employees and then sit in a booth and eat. It’s uncomfortable to watch and feels very unprofessional.
I genuinely wanted to support this place, but the service, atmosphere, and consistency just aren’t where they should be.
