I came to Capo Capo in downtown Norfolk to celebrate my birthday and had a pretty mixed experience. When we arrived, the hostess seated us but didn’t say anything or let us know to follow her, which felt a little awkward. Thankfully, our server Chris completely turned that around. He was amazing, super attentive, kind, and really on top of everything throughout the night.
We started with the Caesar salad and short rib crostini. The Caesar salad was honestly really good. One thing that threw us off was that our appetizers and entrées came out at the same time, which made the meal feel rushed instead of paced out. For our main courses, we ordered the filet and the Delmonico, with truffle mac and cheese and wilted spinach on the side. Unfortunately, the steaks were very disappointing. They weren’t juicy and had almost no flavor. The truffle mac and cheese tasted more like buttered noodles and it was cold when it came out. The wilted spinach was inedible. Our lemon cocktail was good, just needed a little more lemon juice to really balance it out.
The manager did come over and handled the situation, which I appreciated. She removed the entrées from our tab and tried to make things right. She also offered me lemon cake for my birthday. I said yes thinking it was complimentary, but it was still charged, and I probably wouldn’t have ordered it otherwise. The lemon cake itself also didn’t have much lemon flavor, which was a little disappointing, but it was 7/10.
Overall, while the food didn’t meet expectations, I truly appreciated Chris’s service and the manager’s effort to fix things. The atmosphere was nice, and I’m hopeful that with some improvements in the kitchen and timing, this place can really live up to its potential.

Food & Service was amazing Tuesday evening around 845 pm went in there for dinner. Asked for a booth but they said because there’s only two of us they needed to save the booths.
Ordered the filet mignon and the crab cakes with a side of shrimp and macaroni and a coffee vanilla bean martini. Everything was perfect except the drink was overpoured, all you could taste was alcohol.
Other than that everything was amazing so I’m not sure why such a low rating on Google.
I give it a 5 star

Capo Capo’s new linguine with white clam sauce is a standout! The clams were tender, the sauce was light yet deeply flavorful, and everything felt perfectly balanced—rich without being heavy. The linguine was cooked just right and soaked up the garlicky, briny goodness beautifully. A simple dish done really well, and honestly hard to stop eating! Definitely one I’d order again.

A restaurant located inside the Marriott Hotel by Norfolk Waterside. Decent place to go but service was very slow for it to only have a few people in it. Took a hour to get our food. And half an hour for our drinks/ water included. Food was tasty but had to send it back twice because steak was supposedto be medium well, medium and well done. It was rare on 2 occasions. So we just got one taken off the bill as long with the table getting discounts. Manager was very pleasant and apologized to us many times. This might have been just a bad first time experience. But I will give them another try later in the future and hopefully they can lead me to redo a better review on them

Absolutely the best meal we’ve ever had….the cleanest and freshest everything. Absolutely an enjoyable sound track softly playing in the background while the nicest staff enjoy interacting with you. Was so good that the chefs all came out to say hello. We could not have picked a better place to end our stay. Absolutely a must stop and relax and enjoy an amazing meal while in town.

We visited this restaurant with a large group of coworkers to celebrate our boss’s birthday. Everyone ordered different dishes, but several of us chose the shrimp pasta because it had been highly recommended during a previous visit—specifically for the large shrimp and Cajun flavor.
Unfortunately, when the food arrived, it was completely different from what we were expecting and did not resemble what had been recommended before. When we brought this to the manager’s attention, her response was disappointing. She was not apologetic or empathetic and simply suggested that it might have been a different chef or that the shrimp was ordered through corporate. There was no attempt to acknowledge our concerns or make the situation right, especially given the size of our group and the occasion.
Overall, the lack of accountability and customer service left a poor impression. Based on this experience, we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to others.

Disappointing Experience at Capo Capo on Main Street
When we arrived, we had to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke and weave between several smokers just to get to the front door. Not a great first impression. Once inside, the hostess was physically at the stand but spent several minutes chatting with another employee before acknowledging us and finally seating us.
Unfortunately, the service only went downhill from there. Our waitress dropped the menus on the table like we were at IHOP — and honestly, I’ve had far better service at IHOP recently. She didn’t engage with us at all, barely made eye contact, and immediately asked for our order. We actually had to stop her and let her know we wanted a glass of wine and an appetizer first. When the food did arrive, it was dropped off with the same short‑order‑diner energy.
The food itself was just okay. My Delmonico steak was cooked well, but it was served in a pile on top of some very underwhelming mashed potatoes. The presentation didn’t help the already mediocre experience.
Overall, for roughly $75 per person, there are far better places to dine in Norfolk. The food was average, and the service was simply awful. Not somewhere I’d return anytime soon.

Food was amazing will definitely be coming back again service was also pretty good the waiter helped my friend out with the menu because he was having trouble placing his order my only issue why it’s not a 5 star is because there this small stain on the table it might had been from my drink from condensation but beside that it was a wonderful time would definitely recommend this place and am be coming back later for a date night with my girlfriend.

We came here on Tuesday after work the 6th and ordered the Strozapretti 2 with chicken and 1 with shrimp. The service was OK but the food was great! Soooooo we decided to come back with our leadership team tonight and everything that could go wrong did. It was cold in the restaurant and we were told there was nothing that could be done. No turning up the heat, nothing. 40 min later a mald brings out a heater for the hostess. We complained and he went and found us a heater. Next the waitress had an attitude no smiling no asking about drink orders she was only concerned with getting our orders and getting us out. Mind you its 8 of us in here and instead of selling the business more drinks food dessert she was worried about getting us out. Now the food comes and it was TOTALLY DIFFERENT that last week. The shrimp was much smaller not seasoned and when I made the complaint the waitress goes and gets the manager that told me the shrimp is always the same so basically she said Iied. I did send the food back and will NEVER EVER come back again. And loved this pasta but this service is horrible.

Went for our anniversary dinner. Place was calm n quiet. Apart from us only 2 people were there. We started off with some iced tea, tomato basil soup and calamari. Soup was a good start n calamari was okayish. Had short rib gnocchi and lamb porterhouse as main course. Nothing tasted special according to the price we paid $100+ Just an expensive place with average food though the environment is perfect for someone who’s looking for some privacy
