Great spot for lunch!! It’s the only place I cared to order the meatloaf from on more than one occasion. Everything I’ve ever had from this restaurant is absolutely amazing!!

Ok, so I had lunch from here twice to get a somewhat balanced review. On the first visit I had the smoked chicken leg quarter with green beans, mac-n-cheese and corn bread. Everything was excellent except the corn bread which was just bland, like not much actual corn flavor. Then today I had the half slab rib plate with green beans, baked potato salad and a roll (yep, skipped the corn bread). The green beans and roll were good but the tater salad was just ok. I’m not a massive fan of the dish but I’ve had better at other places. Which leaves the ribs and they’re kind of a mixed bag. There wasn’t much of a rub on them so you really need the sauce. I chose the mild sauce and honestly it’s not bad. Could’ve used a bit more actually. They were cooked well but were also a bit on the tough side. Definitely not fall off the bone style. I don’t think I would order them again but perhaps I’ll try the brisket next time. The server both times was friendly and helpful. Most definitely a cool little lunch spot.

The chicken fried steak was one of the specials of the day, so that’s what I ordered. I was then told the cook was making deliveries, which I understand, we are living in an environment where good help can be difficult to find. They informed me that the cashier could make it but it would be a wait and asked if I still wanted it. Yes. Not a bad wait and the food was good. The baked potato salad was the best I’ve ever had.

“Fabulous”” Neighborhood BBQ, was the best find since we left Kansas in October. Plate 1-pulled pork, baked beans, baked potato salad ..Plate 2-meatloaf, coleslaw and beans. Both included jalapenos cornbread.

It was okay. Not anything special but very in theme with the environment of Arkansas. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but I also wouldn’t say no if offered.

Best of the BBQ places downtown. The Blue Plate special is the main option as it is really cafeteria style. Pictured is my favorite of pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans and jalapeno cornbread. Add a drink and “the crack” or banana pudding and it will $15 but the portions are huge. All the sauces are located at the very front when you walk in, Frog sauce is the way to go as it their take on Carolina sauce.
