Worth a trip…great location and nice views in Bay Village. Portions were more than reasonable and food was very good. This was our second time eating here since they opened a year or so ago. Prices not atypical for LBI but I don’t think unreasonable and mains generally come with a salad included. They have some good appetizers including clams that my family loved and lump crab that I tend to find is hard to find at restaurants on the Island. Tonight I had the veal parm, my wife the gnocchi and son had linguini and clams. Only meh dish was the pizette-wasn’t bad but there’s better things to eat. Service was ok…had to ask for new utensils when they took and never were told specials whereas we heard them shared with other tables, neither the end of the world of course. BYOB. We’ll be back…

Walked in with a 6 pm reservation for a party of 5. Got seated immediately. Our server Filomena gave us drinks and warm toasted bread to start off . Took our order and within 15-20 minutes our appetizers came out. We had ordered crispy calamari, mozzarella sticks, bacon wrapped scallops and bruschetta. All very delicious and hot.
The food came out within 15 mins of our appetizers. All fresh and hot. Perfectly made.
I personally had flounder Francese and a ceaser salad with grilled chicken.. it was all very good food . Great portions of main food and the appetizers. Very good presentation of everything. The waitstaff were all very kind and attentive.

Horrible experience. Reservation was not honored and not only were we not seated outside as chosen in the online reservation but we were seated in front of an empty, unused bar and not even near a window.
The worst part was before they even took us to this overflow seating area we asked if we could wait for a table to open up and were told “no.” We then watched THREE outdoor tables open up within less than ten minutes of us being seated.
We did bring up our concerns but the manager on duty was also serving and they were short handed which makes me feel bad for leaving a negative review… but if you only have a few special dinners as we did while on vacation we definitely do not recommend.
Food was just meh and we tried a bunch of apps, salad and entrees as seen in the photos.
Oh and I forgot-while waiting for an open stall in the bathroom a toilet flushed, a server came out of a stall and just walked out the door back into the dining room-she did not stop to wash her hands. Not okay.

I hesitate to leave this review as I fear it will become more and more difficult to get a dinner reservation. Spoke to the owners earlier in the week and they were very accommodating and got 12 of us in for a birthday celebration. We had the burrata appetizer, the peach and ricotta prosciutto app, and the margarita pizza. All were excellent!!! We had the drunken eggplant, salmon piccata, cajun salmon, the pork chop, chicken parms, crab cakes and the pork chop! Everything was outstanding. The portions were huge and we brought home enough for another meal. Our server Riley was attentive and very accommodating which with 12 of us, could have been difficult. We had a truly enjoyable dining experience. We will be back

Our server was nice but this was the slowest service for the most mid food. Arrived at 8:05, received our salads at 8:50, didn’t get our food until 9:15. Do not come overly hungry. Didn’t love the caesar salad (just lettuce and sauce?) or the chicken parm. Not great overall.

Before I review this place, I always check other reviews… I noticed the owner rudely responded to a review which I can honestly relate
To having my food being mediocre, but what shocked me was the nasty response saying stop hurting small
Businesses… if so many people are saying the same thing, you need to change. One change your attitude towards being okay feeding people bland food and two check your attitude. But here you go….its Easy to get a table, I was just one. From what surprised me was extremely plain and basic food. With an extremely fancy and attractive name…..you would think a blow away flavor…. But NO! It was anything but flavorful or delicious. I felt as if I was eating at home. And made a quick meal. I don’t think for $45 for one person I will not be back with or without family ….my suggestion… bold flavors, spice something! cook the chicken that doesn’t have soft crust. The bread was like something you get at a banquet hall, only warm…. The mozzarella was Square cheese just….I’m all about supporting LBI and all local Small

We visited Capitano just two days after it opened and despite some trepidation about going to a brand-new restaurant we were pleasantly surprised. It retained the friendly and comfortable atmosphere of its predecessor in the location. The food was top-notch as well. The only flaw in an excellent evening was the slow service, which was understandable given they were still not fully staffed and will no doubt be addressed by the time we next visit.

Situated in the heart of LBI, the location of this coastal treasure couldn’t be better. The decor features a coastal chic weathered wood aesthetic, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Aside from the wide array of entrees to choose from ( including a great kids menu), one of its stand out features is the incredible sunset views with outdoor balcony seating available. I was drawn to the drunken eggplant parmigiana dish smothered in vodka sauce. It was so fresh, authentic and cooked to perfection ,with the edges crispy just like my grandmother used to make. It was probably the best eggplant I’ve had and the portion was large enough that I took half home. Every dish comes with a nice salad, which will cost you extra at other area restaurant’s. Everyone at my table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend checking this spot out. Make sure to book your table around sunset to fully appreciate the experience!
