Check-in was easy since the lounge is right next to the tram. As soon as I landed, I added my name to the waitlist and was able to get in on time.
Upon arriving, I also added my name for a shower and was able to take one right away. The room itself was clean and modern, but the shower curtain had mold. I didn’t notice this until I was already undressed. After a full day of traveling with one more flight ahead, I decided to use it anyway, since getting a different room would have required going all the way back up to guest services because the rooms are keypad-locked. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there—the water never warmed up, so I ended up taking an ice-cold shower. I had planned to wash my hair but skipped it because of the temperature.
Afterward, I grabbed some food and tried the relaxation pod. The food was okay—small, portioned plates, but plenty of pre-packaged options to take along.
On my way out, I did inform the front desk of the moldy curtain and they said they’d send someone change it.
The experience overall felt elevated, but the mold really set the tone. Had I skipped the shower, I probably would have rated it higher, but ultimately, if they’re neglecting something as basic as a shower curtain, it makes me question the overall cleanliness of the space.
Just an fyi, join the waitlist as soon as your plane lands for a layover or once you arrive at the airport (before security). They say there is almost always a wait, which I understand why. Certainly worth the wait! Great work Cap1.
The lounge was very full — lots of people and not much open seating — but the staff remained pleasant and welcoming throughout. The food selection was good with a wide variety of options. Not everything was to my taste, but everything was beautifully presented. I really enjoyed the beef brisket; I ended up having about five of those little bowls before I felt like I’d had a full meal, but they were delicious.
My maple old fashioned was excellent, and it was nice to just relax and unwind for a bit. There were other amenities I didn’t get a chance to try, but I’m looking forward to exploring more lounges in the future.
For a first‑time experience, it was very good.
The lady at the front who initially checked me was friendly and helpful. However, when I went to register for the waitlist, Tom at the front gave me a noticeably difficult time. From the moment I started giving my information, his tone was tense and dismissive. He repeatedly insisted that I needed a voucher, even though I had just confirmed with the front desk that I did not. After they clarified it for him again, he still struggled to accept it, which made the interaction longer and more uncomfortable than it needed to be.
In a setting like this, especially one that serves different airlines and membership types, staff should be well-trained on the requirements and able to assist passengers without unnecessary back-and-forth.
Fortunately, I arrived early enough that I still had some time to use the lounge, but it was underwhelming to say the least. There was nothing to eat besides some pastries and fruits. And it smelled so bad as soon as I walked in. Some people need to shower… are they not aware of their body odor? it ruined my appetite. I couldn’t breathe and it was unpleasant!
Overall, not worth the wait. I would skip this lounge. Shouldve went to the centurion lounge instead.
However, one bad experience can ruin everything. On a recent vacation, I stopped by, only to have the lady at the front desk completely blow things out of proportion. I have two Capital One cards–my mom was using one, and I was using my own. For some reason, the front desk lady, whose name I wish I had so I could report her, made a big scene about how I couldn’t come in because one card was being used for two guests. I don’t even know if that’s an actual rule, but it shouldn’t have mattered since I had my own Capital One card. Despite this, she still denied me access, which was ridiculous. That single experience left a bad taste, and it was enough to make me reconsider coming back. One star.
The place was spacious and clean. Staff were caring and friendly. It offered a variety of delicious food and even let you take food for your flight. Staff constantly clean up the tables and replenish the food.
The restrooms were individual ones. I think there were 6 of them. I was going to have a quick stop before I left to go to my boarding gate. But there were several people waiting to use it so I gave up! This is the only issue I found.
