You know when you squint your eyes to hear better, it’s that loud.
High prices and bad food. Looks are very deceiving. Biscuits and gravy is very hard to mess up. Biscuit was similar to a brick. The sausage was awful. The potatoes who adds sugar to fried potatoes? Oil tasted old.
This is a restaurant is a never go again for us.

True this place for the first time, so good that we went again over the weekend with my parents and my brother. Servers were welcoming and attentive. Food was as delicious as it looked. Atmosphere was calm and cozy. I like that they make everything fresh and have a daily chanting chalkboard menu. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of my brothers chocolate burbon drink.

Decided to try a new place for brunch today! We were definitely satisfied. Our server Liz was super attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable! Got a visit from the manager, Heather, who was also very friendly and welcoming. The food was sooooooo good. I got the calamari to start and the crab cake Benedict and man oh man, I know I should have stopped but I just couldn’t. My husband got the loaded potatoes to start and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was absolutely amazing. Our drinks were 10/10. He got his classic old fashioned and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. I got the Nona Sunrise and was very pleased with the well balanced flavors. And of course, sitting by that beautiful lake just tied everything into a pretty little bow for sure. Will 100% be going back!

I sat on the screened in patio with the water view and ordered the tuna tartar for starters and for lunch, the fried cod on a brioche bun. Both were very good. I believe it’s a house made tartar sauce that comes with cod. They have more than a few substitution options if you don’t want fries. I chose a side house salad with a lemon-thyme vinaigrette.

Great restaurant at the heart of Lake Nona community in Orlando, beautiful view of the lake and sunsets…great food, drinks and the customer service is top notch. They also offer breakfast and coffee if you go in the mornings! Great place to hang out!

Our family recently visited Canvas Restaurant & Market in Lake Nona, and while there were definitely some highlights, the overall experience left me with mixed feelings. The atmosphere and setting were the strongest part of our visit, but unfortunately, the service and food execution didn’t quite measure up to the expectations we had coming in.

Starting with the positives, the location is stunning. Canvas sits right on the lake, and the outdoor covered patio provides one of the most beautiful dining backdrops in the Lake Nona area. It’s peaceful, scenic, and truly one of the best spots in Orlando to sit and relax while enjoying a meal. The vibe of the restaurant is modern yet warm, and it’s the kind of place you could easily bring family, friends, or even clients to impress them with the atmosphere alone.

Now onto the food and service, where things got a little more uneven. Service was noticeably slow from the very beginning. Our drinks took longer than expected to arrive, and throughout the meal our server did not refill drinks without being asked. Dirty plates sat at our table for longer than they should have, which made the experience feel a bit less polished, especially given the caliber of restaurant Canvas presents itself to be.

As for the food itself, there were some standouts but also several disappointments. We started with the Nutella donuts as an appetizer, and while they were absolutely delicious, warm, soft, and full of flavor, it took nearly 25 minutes for them to arrive at the table. For something labeled as a starter, that kind of delay really slowed down the meal.

The main entrées brought more inconsistency. I tried the Crab Eggs Benedict, which had wonderful flavor overall, but the execution fell short. A key part of any Benedict is the runny yolk, and unfortunately the eggs were cooked through and lacked that creamy texture that makes the dish special. The Mojo Pork Benedict suffered from the same issue, the flavor of the pork was great, but the eggs were again overcooked, which made the dish less enjoyable.

Other items ordered at the table included the Biscuits and Gravy, which were decent but somewhat dry. There was too much biscuit compared to the amount of gravy, making the dish feel unbalanced. The kids’ pancake and sausage plate was fine, nothing particularly memorable, but certainly acceptable for a children’s menu option. The fresh fruit on the side, however, was a bit aged and not as vibrant or fresh as you’d hope for at brunch.

To sum it up: Canvas has incredible potential. The setting is unmatched, and some of the flavors show real promise. However, the slow service, lack of attention to detail, and inconsistent food execution really stood out on our visit. With quicker, more attentive service and more care in the kitchen to get the small things right (like properly runny poached eggs), Canvas could easily become a top brunch destination in Orlando. For now, I’d recommend going more for the atmosphere than the food, but I hope to see improvements on my next visit.

I had brunch here today to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I had ordered the avocado toast with a side of turkey sausage and I absolutely loved it! (Totally forgot to take a picture) but my friend took a picture of her order which was the tuna tarte and the eggs Benedict, also divine. The atmosphere was very laid-back and the view of the lake was gorgeous. The service on the other hand was lacking. The table had to constantly look for our server in order to fill the bottomless mimosas, which therefore did end up making us feel as if we were bothering the server.

Service was deficient. We had to ask for everything and were never asked if food was good etc, and ir wasn’t. French toasts were DRY and hard, horrible. Strawberry jam had lemon extract and ruined the taste. Benedicts were good in flavor but overcooked and not runny. We ordered a drink na dit was drenched in sugar, undrinkable. Coffee ordered an espresso and was drip watery coffee. Very disappointed!

Poor service, middling food—too busy by far for what you end up getting. We waited nearly an hour for our food, and it just wasn’t worth it. Server was nice, but overwhelmed, I think. Very trendy decor and ambiance, but that’s about it.

This is one of your usual fairly overpriced restaurants in the up and coming area or Orlando, lake Nona. Filled with industrial vibe decor, the food offerings are quite lacking in quality. Chicken sandwich was probably the tastiest thing of the 5 things we ordered. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Beer battered cod was beyond disappointing, with only a tiny tiny piece of fish encrusted into a huge amount of deep fried batter, which was crunchy, but that was about its only merit. Our waiter was attentive and provided good service.

We got to the restaurant between lunch and dinner, so they really weren’t busy at all. We asked to be seated in one of the rooms facing the lake (with a view) and were told that we couldn’t sit there because there were parties booked there that were supposed to start at 4 pm. No one showed by for those “parties” at 4 or even 5 pm. We were disappointed to not get the nice view, but it sounded like they just wanted to bunch people in one room to make it easier tor serving.

Overall, not a super memorable or great experience and I wouldn’t really recommend this restaurant.
