Food is great! Well seasoned and cooked, and great portion size! This is the lunch portion. The rangoons are also so good and creamy.

The food is absolutely amazing! Service is friendly, even despite how busy they are (another indicator that speaks to their amazing food), and also some of the rude people that they have to handle. No matter how busy they are food is done quickly and fresh. This is worth the short wait and any drive that you have. Prices are very reasonable, portions are huge! Would recommend 100%!!!

We have been looking for good Chinese food for a while. After reading the reviews we decided to try Cantonese Gourmet South. The food was excellent! The reviews were exactly as listed, tons of delicious food. Sam was super helpful at recommending dishes and sauces. The place was clean and well kept.

The portions are heaping! We tried several dishes including Sweet and Sour with white rice, General Tso’s, Curry, Chicken Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Egg Roll, and Crab Rangoon. I recommend them all! The menu is very large.

There is only one booth to sit at. Since we planned to dine in, we were lucky we were the only ones there when we arrived. Online it did say dine-in and take out options, so we were expecting more seating options to dine-in. The place had guests in and out the whole time we were there picking up take out. Now that we know, we will just get take out next time. We wanted to mention it for new customers to adjust plans accordingly. It is definitely worth the twenty minute drive for us to get great Chinese food.

Great Customer Service and patrons. It was snowing and slick out. I had my baby and while the front counter lady wearing a big beautiful smile willing, without questioning helped me to my vehicle with my takeout, several people also offered to. Great quality food, nice portions and the beef eggroll – I’ll get 3 next time!! .

This is our absolute favorite place for takeout Chinese food. I have been going to Cantonese Gourmet South since I was a kid and will continue to do so. We love the sweet and sour chicken and general tso’s chicken dinners. Their crab Rangoon and egg rolls are amazing. Delicious hot & sour soup. Love CG so much!

Order was a lunch special of General Tso’s, a shrimp egg roll and crab rangoon and a pint of hot & sour soup. It’s the best fried rice I’ve found in years. Not mushy with a splash of soy sauce like many places, this was seasoned so well and slightly firm. The General Tso was battered well, not too thick, and the sauce was great, a little different than most places, in a good way. The egg roll was good, what I’d expect and the crab rangoon had very light wonton wrappers and was filled full. All portions were large and I had a ton of leftovers, which reheated very well too. The prices were very fair as well, about $20 for all of that. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again. If you’ve never been, don’t let the outside fool you, the food is good!

I cant remember the last time I had a take away box packed so full!! They sure dont skimp on the portions. Taste and quality are a couple other things they dont skimp on! WOW!
EVERYTHING was prepared to order and FRESH!
The price tag wasnt bad at all…completely worth the weight in rice!
Keep up the good job!

Placed an order for General Tso’s Chicken and a spicy Mongolian Chicken (spicy) and the wait was about an hour. Other more expensive orders took precedence over ours (we watched them get places and fulfilled well before ours).

When the time came and our orders came out the Mongolian Chicken was missing (I never saw mongolian chicken so I tasted it and it was beef) so I made the receptionist aware, she looked at it and confirmed it was Peppered Steak, the owner came out, also verified it was wrong, and the owner took the tray to the back to “correct it”. They take the tray to the back and scrape the peppered steak off the plate then bring it back with some mongolian chicken (literally the same exact tray, same exact writing on the tray, and the same markings + I watched her). The owner came out with the tray and tried to pretend like she was confused about the requests being made and that it was always chicken plated (we were over the experience at this point and the manipulation attempt though there was 4 witnesses (2 being employees) so we just grabbed the food and didn’t exchange another word). The kicker is that the mongolian chicken that was placed on it was not the spicy mongolian chicken that I ordered.

We grabbed a piece of beef from the plate to show that it was not chicken, owner took the plate to the back, it was not disposed of (certain it was put back with the other peppered steak), owner came back with the same exact plate with beef scraped off the rice (spice-less chicken), and we cut our losses.

Somebody else is potentially eat beef that 2 people touched with bare hands. How many times has that happened?

The ladies up front thoroughly apologized for the extremely long wait, the incorrect order, their manager, and threw in extra sauce. I won’t be back for a while but won’t say I’ll never return. Super disheartening experience and I hope they change some things for the better.
