Amazing food! The vegetable stir-fry was fresh and flavorful, the beef with peppers was perfectly seasoned, and the lobster was cooked to perfection. Each dish was delicious and well-prepared. Highly recommend!

First things first, I should’ve listened to my gut (literally) and respected the 4.0 Google Ratings versus giving this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. We orderd Shrimp Lo Mein and what we actually received was salad shrimp tossed in store boought Ramen noodles, not authentic Lo Mein noodles (see pic). BTW, it’s an upcharge to receive actual shrimp, which is called Jumbo on their menu…$20 for this meal is shameful. Secondly, the egg rolls were cold and the cabbage was definitely old cababge as it tasted like smelly feet. Lastly and more importantly, I spent all night in the bathroom (7 times!!) suffering from terrible gas pains and other relatable symptoms…and I didn’t even finish my plate!!! DO BETTER & DO NOT CUT CORNERS TO MAKE A DOLLAR AT THE RISK OF PAYING CUSTOMERS HEALTH!!!!

Amazing, authentic, great price and quality! We got peeking duck, mushu chicken, and duck soup. I think I have a new favorite spot!

Canton Cooks is a reliable go-to for classic Chinese comfort food done right. The menu is broad without feeling overwhelming, offering everything from familiar staples like fried rice and lo mein to heartier entrées that are consistently well-seasoned and satisfying. Portions are very generous, making it a great value whether you’re dining by yourself or sharing dishes with a group.

They are very consistent; each visit provides the same comforting flavors and quick service. The food comes out hot and fresh and the flavor is not overpowering. It’s the spot to go if you want something dependable and filling.

The atmosphere is casual and cozy, which fits the experience perfectly. Overall, I highly recommend you all to visit this restaurant.

I’ve been coming here for 20+ years and I’m finally adding my review. I have not eaten here for quite a while but decided to stop by after hearing about the ownership change. Unfortunately, over the years, the quality of food has been steadily declining. I had my usual which is General Tsao’s chicken. It was actually pretty good and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s nothing like how it was even 10 years ago but not that bad. I feel like the portion was a little smaller but it could be just me. I no longer come here very often but it’s good to know that I can stop by without much apprehensions.

Canton Cooks is definitely a staple of Chinese food in Atlanta. It was one of my favorite places for family style Chinese when I was little. I’m sure they’re great for a quick lunch, but we usually only came for dinner always with a party of at least 7. They are great for large parties. They have an extensive menu and you used to even be able to order things that weren’t on the menu if you knew what to ask for! Their Wonton soup is second to none and they have a great sauce they make in house. Great memories here, I always think of my dad who passed a few years ago now when I come here. The lady at the front is always so nice and it is a real old school Cantonese restaurant. When we have a large party and I’ve ordered everything I can think of the chef often will bring extra wings or something out for my kids. They have slowed down over the years and may not be in their peak, but still some of the best Chinese food around. They’ve always had the same wait staff and great service. I’ve known them pretty much my whole life and will be sad when/if they close.

Canton Cooks is trying to take advantage of their customers by doubling the tipping on dining in the restaurant. When they bring the receipt to the table to get your form of payment they already include a 20% gratuity in small print. Then they come back after running your card and ask for an 18%, 20% or 25% additional gratuity. My food price came to $99.01 and they added $18.69 for 20% tip, totaling $117.70. Then, brought a receipt asking for tips which if you’re not paying attention you end up tipping almost $50.00 on a $99.00 meal. See attached picture.

Well the food was piping hot and good but absolutely no frills. Nothing in the fried rice, no green onions in the wonton soup. Staff don’t talk to you. No drinks other than water offered. But large portions. You will not feel warm and cozy. I had to ask a couple people if I could get a table, pretty much ignored when I walked in.

Best Chinese food in Atlanta, hands down. Consistently delicious. (I am Chinese)

House fried rice is delicious including Chinese sausage. Salt and pepper pork chops are amazing and the jalapeños give them a perfect kick. Green beans with minced pork or beef, delicious. Calamari is perfectly seasoned and also delicious!

Pictures are from two separate dinners there.

I honestly don’t think you can go wrong ordering anything on the menu. We will certainly be back soon to try more of the menu, along with our favorites listed above. Enjoy!
