I was in the mood for some really good and authentic Mexican food. I was greatly disappointed. The hostess and staff were very warm and welcoming; as was the atmosphere. However; it must be the drinks and the music that’s bringing folks here cause it can’t be the food. Unfortunately, I got mines to go and got home excited to dig in…only to be disappointed my friend. I got the California Burrito and assumed it came with beans and beans…it came with fries…and the chicken inside tastes like they were precooked and from a frozen bag…I could’ve saved some money and grabbed something from Taco Bell. It didn’t give me the authenticity in taste that I was looking for. I just threw it in the trash. I didn’t like it.

Went hear to watch line dance/ trailrides is what I think it’s called. Atmosphere was nice if you like to dance or ppl watch. I didn’t eat but the food looked good. The Hookah smoke wasn’t that bad. The place is huge. Staff was nice despite getting bumped around by dancers and customers all night.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! We ordered the red snapper, shrimp, and steak, and everything was cooked perfectly fresh, flavorful, and well seasoned. The music added to the vibe and made the atmosphere even more enjoyable.
A special shoutout to our waiter, Ivan, who provided excellent service from start to finish. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. Great food, great music, and great service I’ll definitely be back!

Disappointing Experience
I was really looking forward to trying Cantina 1942, especially since the atmosphere was actually very cool and had a nice vibe. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the visit. The food was not good at all and did not meet expectations, and the service was extremely slow.
With better food quality and improved service, this place could be much better because the atmosphere has a lot of potential. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes some changes.

All of the staff I interacted with were friendly. I came in for a beer and some supper. My beer was served in a glass that still had a lot of residual Tajin in it. I get it, I’m a bartender, tajin gets everywhere and sticks. But it’s part of the job to inspect glassware to make sure the glassware you’re serving in is clean and has no chips. I didn’t finish my beer because there were so many little red dots in the foam and on the sides of the cup. My tacos came, the bartender was nowhere to be found. I didn’t have silverware or napkins to eat with, so I didn’t get to eat my rice and beans. I had to help myself to the bar napkins so I had something to wipe my mouth with. No one asked how to food was, if I needed anything, etc. At 35$ including tip for this experience I’m definitely not happy and didn’t have a good impression at all.

Great service! Will was phenomenal and attentive. I got the hand made guacamole, which he made at the table and the balls as an appetizer. Definitely had to get a hookah! It was hitting for an hour! Will be back next time I’m on this side of town.
