Extremely poor service , we we’re basically ignored at the bar. The bartender was nice and tried to accommodate us but We had to ask for everything including plates and silverware. Our meals where delivered the same time as the appetizers. The food was underwhelming, not for anyone with a seasoned palette. The jerk wings were so salty and the oxtails and pepper pot had no bold flavors or heat. The drinks were just okay for the price. The entire restaurant was quite small, and we had to deal with flies while seated. Overall a very poor first impression.

The food was great, fast service as well. I had curry chicken it was a tad salty, maybe marinated a while, still edible. My friend had the oxtail bowl, she loved it. We shared the jerk wings and bread so bomb. I recommend this place and we went around 1 on a Saturday, sat right down. There are no reservations.

Jerk chicken wings were the star of the show! So good we ordered a second. Would also recommend the pork belly.

In DC, visiting my brother, and he suggested this place to dine. The bartender was fun and friendly. He recommended the crispy kale, and it didn’t disappointed. The rolls were soft and hot. And the habanero butter was a delight. We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar while waiting for our table. The wait wasn’t long at all. Thank you for getting my weekend started on the right foot.

I really enjoyed this place. I ordered the Snapper and Peppa Pot. Both were super yummy but the Snapper was absolutely delicious . I love the sliced peppers and pickled onions along with the green sauce. Coconut rice was good. Just wish they had rice & peas instead. Don’t miss out on the Hops bread! Will be coming back!!!

Canes is the TRUTH! The food and service were outstanding. Whoever is doing the cooking knows what they are doing. Everything had flavor and was seasoned to perfection. The staff was attentive and on point. Be sure to check them out because they won’t disappoint.

This is an amazing spot. The food was sooo good, it almost derailed our plan for a neighborhood food crawl. We had to use our will power to refrain from just eating our full dinner here instead of the rest of the crawl. The Doubles were ON POINT. I wanted to order three more and call it a night. Jerk Wings were smoky, not too spicy. Check it out!

My boyfriend read some great reviews on this place. We went as an excursion as we are not from the area. He ordered the trini Chinese chicken, separately an order of rice. I ordered the Oxtails and expected to pay market price. The food was seasoned very well. My boyfriend was underwhelmed with his food, the portions do not depict that of a Caribbean restaurant. The gratuity was explained quickly as to where we had to stop and check the receipt. The waitress was nice , but if you want to be catered to this will not be thay place. We spent $100+ and left hungry. We won’t be back.

Best meal of our DC trip, top 10 lifetime eat list for sure. My boy is rarely without words. When he started in on the fish, it was total silence until there was nothing but bones left on the plate. Daughter loved the oxtail. We had curries and some jerk wings. Spicy, but not excessively hot. So much flavor. The sauces. Initially intimidated by the short menu. Fantastic server guided our order, what great staff. Find room to indulge in coconut flan.

Best oxtail I’ve ever had in my entire life, I had a dream about it last night. The coconut rice was the best possible pairing with the oxtail, we devoured it. I would recommend getting the bread pudding, it was 10/10. I wouldn’t order the flan as it didn’t taste nearly as good as the bread pudding. It also didn’t look like the photo.
