The chilaquiles rojos were amazing just keep in mind the tortillas come out mashy ask for crispy if thats the way you like them

Have lived in Round Lake Beach 17 years and this is my 1st time coming in for a sit down meal (Saturday 5/4, 7pm). The place was 1/2 to 2/3 full. What impressed me the most is the waitresses (only 2) were able to keep people fed in a very timely manner. The establishment is clean and the food was good. Both my spouse and I ordered the carne asada meal. Unfortunately one flank steak was a bit greasy compared to the other one. My spouse has acid reflux, so that’s probably why she noticed this. Had an excellent experience, the prices are fair, and “yes” I do plan to dine at this establishment again one day. 7/12/2025 Saturday – Had the same experience as previously stated, but place was maybe 1/4 full. Prices are reasonable. Had carne asada again and within 12 minutes received and cooked to perfection. I appreciate this place and the service they provide.

I enjoyed a lovely Mexican dinner with my wife the food and service was very gracious. I definitely enjoyed the variety of salsas that they had from different levels of spiciness. It had great authentic food no homemade tortillas but the sauces were for sure made from scratch. We also tried a couple of their drinks Horchata and Jicama. It seemed to be a small place but they actually have an upper level that has more tables. With the great flavor looking to go back and try new things.

Delicious Mexican food. Flavorful, abundance and inexpensive. The owner and staff are very friendly. Food has been so good I stop now and then for take out too. Chicken nachos have so much chicken. Chicken Taco dinner with cilantro and onion lime on the side. Love the flavor if their refried beans. You can’t go wrong here good food fairly priced.

Campestre was easily the best Mexican we’ve had in the area. We’ve been to several looking for a place that had good food and good service. Even if you ignore the mistakes other restaurants made this was the best we’ve had here. On top of better tasting food the service was worlds better. I don’t expect the wait staff to speak perfect English at an ethnic restaurant, but they should be able to answer questions about the food and take an accurate order. Our waitress here was knowledgeable and easily answered our questions and got our order correct the first time. The only negative I can say is that they didn’t check up on us very often, but at the same time we didn’t really find that we needed anything between visits. We will definitely be coming back here next time we want Mexican.

Food is really good. They gave large portions and prices are excellent. They have a bigger menu then I was expecting. Food is really good, but not spicy. They give you chips and salsa and a small bowl of soup for free. The decorations are also very colorful. If you come during the day, it is not very busy.

Love this place, this time I tried their Pozole it was Awesome!! Great flavor, and great balance with ingredients. Of course it comes with a side plate of cabbage, radishes, and diced onion. I also got a burrito filled with Pollo (chicken), beans, lettuce, and sour cream. The burrito was enjoyable however, it lacked a little bit of flavor in the meat. Staff and atmosphere were lively, and inviting. If you’re looking for authentic hispanic dishes definitely Campestre’s is worth your time & money.
