Tucked away on Hollybush Rd. Cameron’s Garage is a hidden gem. The food is 5 stars you can order from the bar menu or the tavern inside Cyprus Point.

So if you are tired of the same old things in Flowood I highly recommend breaking away from the normal routine and relaxing at Cameron’s Garage.

Great open air venue with four sided bar and plenty of TVs. Only drawback is currently no draft beer but they do have some good local and regional bottles/cana. The food service was pretty slow but that was because they friend my catfish to order which came with six medium sized pieces, a pile of fries, and four hush puppies. The coleslaw was very mustardy but pretty good. There’s also a Golden Tee and foosball table for entertainment.

Taylor is absolutely amazing behind the bar! She’s always attentive, makes sure your beer is ice cold, and goes above and beyond to make sure every customer has a great experience. You can tell she takes pride in what she does!

Been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance and honestly I kind of wish I had waited a while longer until it was better. The service was pretty bad, even though there was what looked like a ton of staff members standing and sitting around talking and socializing at the bar. We waited around 15 minutes before having to grab the attention of a passing server from the other restaurant to send a server to our table, who wasn’t bad, just wasn’t very attentive, you know the whole “never let them sit with an empty glass” doesn’t seem to be a practiced theory here. They also don’t have beer glasses, so if you were hoping for an ice cold beer in a frosty mug this isn’t the place for that, best I got was a moderatly chilled can. The food was not anything to sing songs about either. The “loaded” fries were mostly soggy cold fries with mushy bacon pieces and cold cheese on top, not to be out done by the “Bang Bang” shrimp that were less bang and more dang…as in “dang I was hoping these were good”, but nah. Also, only offering prepackaged plastic utensils? That’s not very appealing. The vibe was cool, and there was some kind of band playing so I guess if you wanted canned beer and something like rock music this fits nicely. I was just hoping since they kept the word “resort” in their name after the McClain Lodge buyout that it would feel something like that, even in the bar area, but no, that’s not this place at the moment. I can’t say I will never go back as the owners of this place are known to be great people and respected business owners in the area so I am sure they will keep working on things to make it better, but I am gonna give it a nice long while before my next visit to the garage.

This review is for the service from the blonde “bartender” working on 6/4 at 7:00pm. Did not bother greeting us, even after I went to the bar and asked for menus (we were at a table right by the bar). The rudest server/bartender I have had in years and I have worked in all aspects of food service including management. The first time we came it was great, however this time we were handed a menu we couldn’t order from, make that make sense. If she were my employee, well she wouldn’t be with that type of attitude and incompetence. We planned on having dinner but after seeing how rude this woman was (didn’t have her name on the receipt so she obviously knows she is awful) we only had an appetizer and went elsewhere for dinner. Had high hopes for this place but with employees like that it won’t last long. Probably will not be back after this as there are much better options closer to our house. Owners need get on the ball.

The remodel looks great! We came for the first time last night to give it a try. The bar menu is simple but looked like some good items for hanging out and having a beer while watching a game. We were given the option to order from the steakhouse menu which was exciting to find out we could get that food so we ordered off that menu. Staff is doing a great job but may need a tad more training as we were given plastic utensils for our steak house ordered food that needed steak knives. I know things will improve. Looking forward to our next visit!
Trip#2: Atmosphere has improved as has service speed! We came and had a couple of shrimp po-boys. Shrimp was undercooked and ive never had a po-boy with whole lettuce pieces instead of being sliced or shredded. Fries are good but would be FANTASTIC with some extra seasoning on them maybe?
