My friend really wanted to sit at a high top by the water, which we did, and my only complaint is that those chairs are really uncomfortable – you’re just sitting on metal bars. It would have been a lot nicer with a cushion.
She ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with Sweet Potato Fries and Stone Crab claws and loved everything she ate. The Po Boy looked amazing!!!
I don’t like Stone Crab, so don’t partake in that. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Sandwich with a side of Coleslaw. I ordered the fish blackened and the filet was DELICIOUS even though it was a hefty portion that was hard to hold in the bun.
It says that the slaw is vinegar-based on the menu, which I usually like, but it was still a little too vinegar-y for me.
For dessert we both shared slices of Key Lime Pie and Peanut Butter Pie and they were DELICIOUS. It was the BEST KEY LIME PIE I’ve had yet in Florida!
I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant if you’re in the area!
The food was solid across the board with a surprisingly wide variety for the location, including gator and multiple seafood options. I went with a burger and it was genuinely very good, especially considering where you are. No “tourist food” disappointment here.
The ordering process is a bit different but works well. You order at the counter, grab a number, food gets brought to your table, and you pay at the table after you’re done. Simple and efficient.
The staff deserves special mention. Not just friendly, but genuinely helpful humans. We made the rookie mistake of Ubering out from Miami without lining up a ride back. The staff went out of their way to help us connect with a local who has clearly rescued stranded visitors before. They absolutely saved us.
Great food, great people, and above-and-beyond service. Could not recommend this place more.
