Had a DoorDash delivery from Calvert Crabs. I ordered the jumbo large crab cake with a side of Chesapeake Macaroni Salad. It came in a big package that looked empty. They could’ve put a bed of lettuce on the bottom to fill the box. I ordered no sauce on my crabcake and ended up with some kind of sauce that was gross. However, the Chesapeake macaroni salad was good. We also ordered a quart of cream of crab soup that was delicious as well.
EDIT TO ADD: received a reply about the imperial sauce on broiled crab cakes. Next time state “no imperial sauce”

what a find! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend the fish taco and crab cake! And yes, the collards were awesome. I feel like I just discovered a seafood gold mine!

The people working were very kind and attentive, and the crab cakes and appetizers were amazing! Very generous portions of fresh crab meat and no filler in the crab cakes. The sides were also delicious! Thank you for the great food and friendly atmosphere. 🙂

My mother and grandmother visited looking to have some authentic Maryland crab cakes. Not only was the food delicious, but the waitress with glasses was accommodating for us so that we had a comfortable experience. I recommend this place to anyone (the portion sizes are great too!)

I went to the Viking con they had a truck for at laplata today and I was very excited when I saw they had crab fries. The food was fine (they had “pico” with was just cut up tomatoes) i went there with my friend and we got in line but then the lady taking orders proceeded to call over some man that was behind us in line and took his order, so instead of overreacting we got behind someone else behind that guy. Then when it was finally our turn she just stood there writing things down ( mind you I’ve always working in food so i try to be very understanding but when it’s obvious your ignoring customers that’s irritating) not once telling us “ give me one second I’ll be right with you” she takes her time and then asked what we wanted. I don’t know if it was because we’re young but in my opinion that’s poor customer service so I didn’t tip them like how i tipped the place that had food right next to them.

The okra was the best I’ve ever had, and the rockfish bites were delightfully soft, perfectly lightly fried, with a nice sauce on the side. Also enjoyed the combo platter and crab cake.

Until today, I have had no complaints about the food or service at Calvert Crabs. However, charging $25 for a portion of rockfish bites that isn’t even child-sized, along with a side salad, is simply outrageous.

I want to say I was very pleased with the food I got which was female crabs, soft shells , fried oysters, grilled cheese an they were all good!!! Shanon treated me like she knew me all my life treated me with respect an dignity! She answered all my questions an explained the options an choices of the crabs an packed them for my 3 1/2 hour drive home. If your looking for seafood I would stop there an try it out!!! The cream of crab was delicious and I love the flavor. However, the amount of crab shell I in the soup was was too much and made it hard to enjoy the soup. Hopefully that’s not a consistent thing and I was just unlucky.

This was my first time here, and the food is pretty fire ! I ordered the 1) crabby fries w/pico de gallo, 2) jumbo lump crab cake sandwich w/Chesapeake chips , 3) calamari , and 4) Chesapeake Mac Salad .
There was a couple of folks that walked in for orders. So this place can be pretty popular/active. Who doesn’t love seafood? This place seems like a staple. The food packaging consists of plastic bags, paper boxes/cartons, – but non-recyclable soup cups .
I’d go again! Amazing food, tasty, and filling. This place is a true A1 Maryland gem .
