My husband and I were gifted a surprise date night by my parents, and Calogero’s was the perfect place for it! We sat outside on their shaded patio, tucked away from the street for a peaceful ambiance. Everyone we spoke with was friendly, knowledgable, and clearly passionate about their food.
We tried the meatballs, fettuccini, and vodka pasta dishes, and wrapped the evening splitting a piece of the pistachio cake. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and tasted high-end. With the first bite, we were transported back to our Italian honeymoon! This place is a gem, and definitely worth repeating and trying new items.
(We also ordered some of their wood fired pizzas as take out another time, and can vouch for the Margherita, Hot Honey, and Pepperoni pizzas, as well as their Greca salad!)

We’ve been going to Calogero’s in Lake Alfred since we first moved to Polk County! It has became our favorite spot for pizza in Polk County! Most of the time we get take out but we have also dined in several times. The pizza is wood fired and has always been delicious! The chocolate cake is amazing too! Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Our first experience with Calogero’s Pizzeria was fantastic! We came in on a rainy Saturday evening. We were greeted immediately and informed about the menu and where to order. We took a moment to take in the ambiance of this new find. You can choose indoor and an outdoor patio dining. Also, two tables just outside the doorway, should you decideon sidewalk dining. We noticed they have a coffee bar with bar stools.
We started with the Antipasto Salad, which was cool, crisp, and very fresh. Our pizza for the evening was the Macellaio (meat pizza). We absolutely loved everything about it! From the crunch of the crust, to the savory flavors! You can’t have pizza without wings! The wood fired chicken wings were truly amazing! To top off our experience we had the Rainbow Cookies! These little guys are not to be missed! Trust me on this one!
The service was excellent, as we were checked on regularly. We even had someone from the kitchen come visit our table, as he had done with others earlier. I look forward to trying the pasta dishes on our next visit!!

Came here with some coworkers after work today. Sooooooo pleased with the food, environment, and location. We came around 4pm and spot was empty. Looks like an evening spot. So glad we came at the time we did. Serving size was abundant. I ordered the greca salad and pizza of the day for Friday. Come check it out. Great spot and home style service!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this was such a disappointing experience that I actually created a Google account just to warn others. This was my first—and definitely my last—time ordering from here through Uber Eats.
I ordered two pizzas:
• Funghi Pizza — advertised as having “wild mushrooms,” but it came with basic, plain mushrooms of only one type.
• NY Cheese Pizza with added pepperoni — I paid an extra $2 for pepperoni, but the pizza arrived as a plain cheese pie.
Both pizzas arrived cold (possibly Uber Eats’ fault, but still part of the overall bad experience). The real issue was the quality. Both pizzas were bland, barely had cheese, and whatever flavor might have been there was completely overpowered by the awful burnt taste of the crust. The entire bottom was black and charred, and when you take a bite, you can’t taste anything except that harsh, bitter burnt flavor. No cheese, no sauce, no toppings—just burnt crust.
We ended up eating it anyway because we had nothing else planned for dinner and were hungry, but honestly, we felt like we’d end up with a stomach ache afterward. It was just that bad.
Overall, it was gross, disappointing, and a complete waste of money. It ruined dinner, and I won’t be ordering from here again.

We were a group of 6 and sat at our table quickly. I ordered the personal size meat lovers pizza…which can easily feed 2!
I loved the all natural ingredients, the pizza dough was so light and my stomach didn’t leave with a heavy feeling…like when I eat most pizzas.
The owner came around and was friendly with all the customers. He chatted with my brother and friends for a while, bringing on lots of laughter….remember us?!
If you have never tried this restaurant, in Lake Alfred, you are missing out on great Italian food! Go see for yourself!

Great pizza place near Winter Haven. Traditional Italian style with a real wood oven, and every pizza is made from scratch, starting with the dough you can see them preparing. Staff is friendly, service is excellent, and the pizzas are truly outstanding. Totally recommended.

Huge shout-out to Calogero Pizzeria in Lake Alfred, the owners and staff! My husband and I ordered a pizza about 30 mins before closing on Door dash, and when we showed up they had not received the order. (Highly recommend that you just call or order on Slice) Even though we told them not to worry, that we would order again on a different day, the younger gentleman said he wanted to make it for us! We spoke to the owner, and he showed us around, and everyone there is just so nice, real and down to earth. Just really nice people, and amazing pizza. Definitely get a pie sometime and support them! We’ll be back soon

First time getting food from there. We drove by and thought the place looked interesting. We ordered pick up and got there about 5 mins early. A man came out that apparently works there and asked us about our order and then went inside to check on it, even though I figured we had at least 5 more mins. So he came back out and told us we had 5 more mins and then asked us to move our vehicle. Apparently we were blocking the no other people coming in. So we moved about 5 feet over. Got our pizza and I would say it’s mid for the price. Also too burnt for us. Not a good first experience and unfortunately won’t be going back. Too many other options around.
