I cannot tell you enough how happy I was to come across this place. We meant to go across the street but kitchen was close. We drove here and I asked the guy helping the front “is it too late to come in” we were celebrating an unexpected job offer. He said. Come in. Order quickly. We did. Amazing food. Amazing service. Portions are so good. We all have left overs for lunch tomorrow. Prices are affordable! Food taste good. Great presentation. I mean. We were all so happy that we landed there. Will be back!

Calo is one of the best Italian restaurants on the north side. Big portions, lots of options. Great antipasti, pizza and entrees, and amazing pasta dishes. Dinner for two, with a bottle of wine and dessert will run north of $100 but we always leave with leftovers, and it’s a casual spot, never too dressy (sometimes you’ll see Cubs fans come here after a game). Great bar and great service, this place is usually packed, even on a weeknight. Great place for a date or family dinner. Reminds me a lot of Vesuvio from the Sopranos. Never had to wait long for a table.

Came here a handful of times. Each experience i had was phenomenal. Yesterday i decided to try am eggplant rolled stuffed with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. It was delicious. Literally tasted like pasta. Would definitely get that dish again.

Went to Calo with my husband for the first time last night and I must say the food is amazing. The manager there is a super nice guy, very welcoming and our waitress was knowledgeable about the food because the pasta she recommended was so delicious. She was also very nice and checked on us often. I would definitely go back to Calo again.
