Neighborhood taco joint! It’s like walking into your friends house, everyone there is super friendly and nice. I love the tributes to classic Mexican Cinema Stars! The Berria is fantastic! Tacos or quesadillas with Berria beef, you win either way! It’s my new Neighborhood weekly dinner spot! I’ll save you a seat.
My ultimate benchmark for Michigan Mexican Food is refried bean and rice quality, chips not relevant to me, salsa is important and a great measure of care and authenticity.
They pass in all categories with flying colors!
Refried beans were creamy and well seasoned, rice was great, 2 salsa i tried were also great and very authentic. The culinary team cares a great deal about traditional methods and authentic flavors.

I came here for the first time in November and having been craving it since. The food is so good! They have the best birria and consommé that I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant. They are so friendly and great customer service. They don’t miss at all. 10s across the board. And that agua Fresca!!!! So good!

A lot of their business is take-out so the first question was, “dining in or picking up?”
Once seated, one of the staff brought 3 large bottles of sauce, one clearly labeled “hot”. Yeah, me!
These were in addition to the standard bottles of Tapatio & Cholula.
I ordered a favorite, chicken enchiladas. They come with rice and a choice of black or refried beans.
Chicken was moist and tender. Everything was lightly seasoned and tasty.

3/25 consistency; this place, never disappoints. There are two taco places, relatively new to the area, closer to my house and I think this place beats them- again, when everyone seems to charge almost the same price, you have to go with quality and service-
We work too hard for our money to throw it away to places don’t have good customer service or who don’t have food that is good quality and delicious-I want the most bang for my buck and this place delivers!
Best street tacos in the area (I wish they had Barbacoa), the best nachos- I wish they would offer the Elote in a bowl and not just on the cob-I hate getting all that corn up in my teeth and so messy to eat- – their cucumber lime juice which they don’t have every day is so good. It’s refreshing without being heavy sweet.
Wry nice service- I hope they do very well! People please support local small businesses

extremely kind people, i accidentally came in RIGHT before close and they were very kind and didn’t rush us. really good food too for a good price i fear i will become a regular here

The staff at Calixto are always very nice and attentive. The food is affordable and tasty. My partner and I love the hibiscus water, all the different tacos, and the burrito bowl (I usually ask for a tortilla/ edible bowl) but if we had a favorite menu item it’d be the quesabirria!

Service was very friendly and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Everything was Very Fresh tasting! I had the street tacos, my favorites were the asada and pastor, they also have the good corn tortillas i prefer. I generally drive all the way to SW for my street taco fix, and now I dont have to drive all the way down there so I will definitely be back, especially for Taco Tuesday!
