I ordered a kid’s meal for my toddler and asked them to leave out the cheese and replace it with vegetables. They did, but instead of fresh veggies, it was cooked bell peppers and onions in sauce. When I asked if it was spicy, the older lady serving confidently said it wasn’t. But when I tasted it for my toddler, it was super spicy! My kid couldn’t eat it, so I gave ti to my husband. My husband who loves mexcian food says the tortilla meal didn’t even taste good. ‍♀️

I honestly don’t think the staff even know what they’re serving or have tried it themselves. This was my first time ordering from California Tortilla, and I didn’t realize how bad the service would be. I later saw all the negative reviews on Google Maps. Wish I’d checked sooner.
I’m surprised how many bad reviews I read about this California Tortilla.

Does the management even care? like RE-TRAINING their staff?
And whoever manages this branch and would ask me to email you, NO! I’m not going to email you because it will not resolve your current BIG problem. You either have to retrain or replace your staff, improve your food quality, or accept that your business will fail eventually and see you close one day because you didn’t care at all. Businesses that have bad staff and terrible food is the reflection or the symptom of how bad management at the top.

Personally, the young cashier was at least nice, that one star is left is for her.
Definitely not going back!

English is my native language lol. The cashier pretended not to understand me. I even held up one finger to show I only wanted one, and she still acted confused and made three. so I just played along. Does this make you happy ?
That kind of treatment feels like racial discrimination.

We had lunch at the food court on the 3rd floor of Tysons Corner Center at the California Tortilla. I ordered the blackened fish street tacos for $12.99 for three, chicken nachos for $10, and three more street tacos, carnitas verde, for another $12.99. I was taken aback by how much they cost, but I guess they are in a prime location. We love the fish tacos. Freshly fried fish were very good. Nachos were drowned with runny cheese topped with dry diced chicken, runny sour cream, and more. Carnitas were dry also. Overall, they’re just okay, and if I ever go back, I will get the fish tacos again.

The food was ok it was really not good. I am not gonna go again. The steak was chewy and bland. The hot sauce is really spicy for me but that might just be me. It is easy to get to but not recommend. If you like spice I would go there but overall I did not like it and wont be going again.

I came to this establishment after leaving the movie theater after celebrating my sons 7th birthday who wanted tacos to make his birthday complete. The food server was rude and had an attitude. While telling me that she could not assist me because they were closed (the time we came was 8:15pm) and the mall was still open. Which make matters even worse. I could still see the food available while not being wrapped in taken in the back yet. I even pleaded with her by saying “ok I see you have (chicken, steak) that’s still available”. Can you at least use that and her response to me was “no because I will then have to go in the back to get a spoon to prepare it.
WOW what an horrible horrible experience (I’m literally shaking as I’m typing this). I will never forget the tears and the look on my sons face because he could not get tacos for his birthday. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone.

Try to order food at 8:35 and they tell me nothing is available but a salad. Why is your store open if you can’t serve your customers?

Honestly this is one of the better California Tortilla locations I have gotten food at. I sometimes eat here when I’m at the mall with my girlfriend when we can’t agree on something. The food is pretty good and the service is friendly and professional. I definitely recommend this food court eatery if you’re in the mood for California style Mexican food and quirky burritos.

i have been here several times, but this is my last straw. the food is good as a vegetarian but the servers are very very rude. one older hispanic lady and one younger hispanic girl. as a person that works in costumer service, the attitude was baffling. you are allowed 5 toppings and i put exactly 5 toppings on my bowl and they ended up charging me an extra dollar because they believed i put more than 5 toppings even tho i told them i didn’t. same thing happened to my friend, even tho she only had 3 toppings. the younger lady that checked me out was very rude, rolling her eyes all because i asked for chips on the side and a drink. she handed me my drink, then proceeded to talk badly about my friend and i to the other worker. overall, too expensive and thought it would be a better alternative to chipotle, but nope! i wont be coming back just because of the costumer service. i hope they get better training because they are losing costumers over the rude attitudes that the workers have for no reason.

It’s currently 8:30 and they close at 9. I went to order my food and they had already packed everything up and said they were closed. The food is good but the service is not good. I can see from the reviews they do this regularly. I would understand if it was busy and there was low staff, but there was 3 people working and the mall was empty.

Prior to this visit, I had never been to a California Tortilla location by any means.

Recently, that indeed did change, I was coming back from a long day in the famed city of Washington D.C. and was looking for something to get for dinner.

I stumbled across this place whilst in the Tysons Corner Center and was willing to try this said place. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Burrito and was met with that of quick, yet rather incoherent service, as the maker of my burrito had a hard time trying to understand what I precisely wanted in my burrito due in-pride part to the said location being in that of a food court atmosphere.

Overall, this particular restaurant was not the best in terms of that of an atmospheric perspective, but it redeemed itself with that of this establishments’ spectacular food.
