The food was SO GOOD!!! The service was absolutely amazing and Daniel one of the waiters there was absolutely amazing, very professional. I had the shrimp zucchini scampi and the burnt ends brisket pizza and it was so good. And the dessert was even better! I would definitely come back here again!

Today at the Encinitas, San Diego location of California Pizza Kitchen, I ordered and ate the Kung Pao Shrimp Spaghetti ($24.24) and also ordered a lunch Duo to go for $13.99.
The food total came to $38.23.
I paid using two cards: one $50 card and another card with a remaining balance of $25.32.
However, I was only given back a card with a balance of $19.48.
Here is the breakdown:
Food total: $38.23
Tax (7.75%): $2.96
Tip: $5.00
Total: $46.20
Based on this total, I should have received a remaining balance of $29.13, not $19.48.
I would like to understand why only $19.48 was returned to me.
Additionally, on December 16, 2025, I signed up through the California Pizza Kitchen website after being told that a free appetizer would be provided. I was told that Buffalo Cauliflower would be free, and I received it. However, when I checked the receipt, I was charged $11.29 for it. I have attached the receipt for reference.
Furthermore, the receipt I received today appears to be a fake or incorrect receipt.
I have visited this restaurant twice, and both times I feel that I was treated in a way that misled the customer. This is unacceptable for a restaurant of this size and reputation.
When I returned home and immediately called the restaurant after finding the receipt, the waitress who served me answered the phone. She said she would transfer me to the manager, but instead the call was disconnected. I find this situation very frustrating and unreasonable.

I came here last week and I am so DISGUSTED I AM NEVER COMING BACK ! I asked my server to call the managers and he called them 3 times not once did they come they completely ignored not only me, but my server it was absolutely disgusting I asked for their names and ALISON AND BEN DO BETTER !the managers were just standing around they weren’t even busy it’s absolutely disgusting and unacceptable when we were waiting for such a long time for this location, but after this we are never coming back is to disappointing to see the kind of management that they allow in this restaurant especially when managers should support their servers, to all the servers great job! To the management and their corporate DO BETTER !

Thank god my parents psid for this crap. I knew it was going to be bad. Underwhelming bbq pizza. Sorry theres plenty of other places that do it way Better. Terrible wine list. Just crap you can buy at Vons. My mom’s sangria was so disgusting i was gobsmacked at the price but she likes that crap. Boomers, whst can you do. The decor was depressing it was like stock photos. The service was fine but also seemed fake or over rehearsed. Why are the lights so bright? Anyway cant wsit to go back to one of the other amazing pizza spots in town. They’re actually worth the price and the ambiance is way better.

We’ve been missing the closure of the Solana Beach CPK, and are so glad that CPK has now found a home in Encinitas. We had the wild mushroom pizza, chopped BBQ salad, and cauliflower bites. All were very tasty. The service was excellent. We’ll be returning there again tonight (ordering all new items). Stay tuned for that review.

Great service, mediocre food. Pizza is served on a regular plate and is floppy. I used to love CPK, but private equity bought them and gutted its soul. Unfortunately, this had become a common theme in the United Corporations of America.
